Overview
More
The Little Theatre Cinema was built by community theatre pioneer Consuelo de Reyes and her husband in 1935. It initially functioned as a news theatre open from midday and showing hourly programmes of documentaries and newsreels. Feature films were first shown in 1939, the first two being "Peg of Old Drury" starring Anna Neagle followed by "Oh Mr Porter" starring Will Hay. The cinema thrived on local support throughout the years as other Bath cinema venues closed and in 1979 the former scenery store and lounge area were converted into a second screen. In spite of many refurbishments to keep the cinema up-to-date with digital sound and the latest projection technology, and a renewal of the seats to give the very best comfort levels, The Little Theatre has retained the charm and welcoming warmth of a 1930's cinema, including a luxury balcony with sofas in the main auditorium.

The cinema is small and old, however seats are extremely comfortable. The range of drinks and snacks was very good, and a bit different. Staff welcoming too. Definitely worth a visit.

Everything a cinema should be. I find multiplexes to be sterile, and not an enjoyable way to watch films, but going to the little feels like an experience in itself. Friendly, great atmosphere and loads of character. They also show all of the best films...More

I had no plans to see this film but seeing this fabulous little place forced my hand! This kind of place is just my thing; independent, quirky and dated. Lovely snacks and drinks. Just a fun place you should be supporting

The Little Theatre is a couple of minutes walk from the Roman Baths and is a quirky independent cinema showing both latest blockbusters and a selection of independent and arthouse films. The cinema has 2 screens off it's small foyer and the seats are comfy,...More

Booked to see a film online . Upon arrival at the Cinema it was hidden off the Main Street. The seating are two seater couches. They were really comfy and had a home from home feel . Loved it

Does what it claims. A cute little theatre showing non-mainstream movies. Friendly and welcoming, the staff are as charming as the venue - it's like going around a friends house for drinks and a movie.

I try to support local where and when I can. The Little is the only independent cinema left in Bath and for this reason deserves support. It hosts a good range of movies, independent film, documentary and classics (classic disneys on a Sunday, that sort...More

Hello there, Thank you so much for your feedback of The Little. As you may know, we are an 80year old building and so although we try to tier the seating as much as we can, there's only so much we can do, especially being...More

Haven't been to a cinema like this in years. Lovely place very comfy seats (better than modern cinemas) and a decent size screen! Film choice obviously reduced given size of the venue but good for a different cinematic experience! Nice day out good bar/snacks
