Well organised attraction- the ticket covering 5 attractions is easy to use and reasonable value. The best part by far is the main cavern (Goughs Cave) that is worth travelling to see - the other parts wouldn’t justify the visit on their own a but as a package it was a pleasant day

Disappointing visit overall, not good value for money at £22.75 per person. The Gough Cave was interesting but the rest of the ‘attractions’ which came in the price are obviously just fillers to justify the entry price. Wouldn’t recommend,

Amazing as always to visit the only down side is although all amenities are dog friendly the on-site cafe isn’t ? Which means if it’s wet or inclement you either get wet, go without or leave the site to go to an independent tea rooms down the road ( great but incredibly busy and very small) cheddar is really missing a trick here a simple dog friendly area inside could be marked off and watch the profits grow!

We went to cheddar today to see the tower and the caves. We had lots of interactions with Tom and he was so lovely and showed us around and expanded our knowledge too as-well as being very friendly . Would definitely recommend coming here , perfect for a family day out.

The first cave we visited at Cheddar Gorge was Gough’s cave. The cave has plenty of stalagmites and stalactites and a good audio commentary was included in the price. This cave is also where the wheels of Cheddar Cheese are matured.
Cox’s Cave was a huge disappointment after Gough’s cave. Its multimedia display of the adventures of early man just did nothing for us and just served to distract us from the natural beauty of the cave. Probably best to visit this cave first, then you may not be so disappointed!
The Gorge (and the village) can get very busy, with most parking taken by late morning. However, in the evening, when everything is closed, it can be a great time to visit the gorge and explore the natural beauty without hordes of tourists and traffic (plus the parking is free in the evening).
Cheddar George day tickets ( that includes Gough and Cox Caves, Museum of Prehistory, Jacob's Ladder, Lookout Tower, Cliff-Top Walk) was £20.95 (Adult) and £15.70 (Child 5 to 15), under 5's are free.

We were staying nearby so felt we needed to visit. We have been before but not with our young son, who did enjoy it but £63 is alot of money (2adults and 1 child) for a 20 minute visit. I appreciate there are other attractions (which we didn’t visit on this occasion) but they are all free anyway. Just a tiny bit steep but still, we enjoyed it and it was dog friendly which is amazing. Wish more places were. I would say that the chap in the gift shop was really lovely, very enthusiastic and friendly.

Great visit. Loved the recorded commentary that was offered, great to hear the history behind the caves. Goughs cave was our favourite with the amazing lights and storytelling. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Tip to convert your Tesco clubcard vouchers, we wouldn't have gone without them. Thouroughly recommended.

What a pity. It is just so EXPENSIVE. 2 adults and 2 teens plus parking is nearly £100 for around 90 mins of sight seeing. The big cave is excellent but at the price it’s really not worth the cost which is a massive shame. At 1/2 the price it would be expensive. At this price it’s just way too much.

Really quite expensive for what you get. £20 each for adults but the attractions (minus the cliff top walk) probably take 90mins max to explore. The best attraction - the cliff top walk- you could do for free anyway. It's great that the caves and museum allow dogs though.
Regarding the cliff top walk, this is much more of a hike. We went on a very rainy day and it was actually pretty dangerous as it's hilly and rocky and muddy - we slipped over a number of times despite having good hiking footwear on. Please be careful when doing this walk and I'd avoid it in wet weather. You could very easily twist an ankle or stumble down a hill.

We came to cheddar for a few hours. Went into both Caves and up jacobs ladder. Stoped in the local for a break .
Price for two was £40.00
All in all an ok couple of hours.
But when it comes to the parking what a racket pay and display was £6.00. There is no need to have a minimum charge so high.
Only live an hour away. But won't be back after that rip off ..

No I believe they are still closed, due to an ongoing issue with the owners we were told by a local.

Can you just buy a ticket to visit the main cave and not have to pay to do all the other things. If so how much is it please. Thank you.

It's all one price. We literally just went last week. You can get a discount if book tickets online in advance. Otherwise it's about £19 ish per adult. This gives you access to both caves, the museum, Jacobs ladder ect. When you visit one of the attractions you get your ticket punched to shown youve used it. Having said that the only places that punched our tickets were the two caves as the other bits weren't manned that day but could still be accessed. It's well worth the money. I'm sure the man selling the ticket said you get a certain amount of time too to return and visit the attractions you haven't had time to see if you unfortunately run out of time.
How much time do you need to allow yourself for the visit?

A full day is advised on busy periods, but depends in your interests, they have a 4d cinema and lots of other activities, we didn't do them all like fishing for gold and still filled the day

A good question! We were there on a Bank Holiday so it was mobbed! A school day would be best. Parking is decent though beware you will need cash or have to get code through your mobile as the parking machines haven't been upgraded to take chip and pin and or contactless cards.
