Visited for the first time as members of HHA. Afternoon visit in perfect late September weather. Gardens immaculate and clearly very lovingly cared for. Loved the setting with the amazing views over Avalon. You can see Wells Cathedral and the Glastonbury Tor from the gardens. Worth a visit and well worth the money. Quite a drive from Bristol where we live.

Very pleasant afternoon visit fabulous views over the city and to the hills beyond. Tea and coffee available but not very good, weak and warm. Making one teabag last for several cups I think to stretch the profits!! Plants for sale are a good deal and nice to talk to owners.

Visited the gardens today with my parents. Greeted by the friendly owner who welcomed us and gave a short talk about the history of the house and gardens. You can wander wherever you want and there are plenty of seats with beautiful views. If we hadn't bought Groupon vouchers we wouldn't have known this place existed, even though we don't live too... More

It was a beautiful day and the host was lovely. He gave us a talk on the history of the house and garden. It was too small to stay to long and very steep in places, watch out elderly

It's not often that you visit the gardens of a historic Country House and get greeted by the owners and told the best bits to go and explore... But that is exactly what happened when a friend and I visited Milton Lodge gardens this week.

We used a Groupon voucher, in fact that is how we came to know about the gardens, although I would have been quite happy paying the 'full' price of £5. We initially arrived before noon not realising the gardens are only open from 2pm to 5pm on certain days of the week - so check the website. Having been greeted... More

We walked up from our bed and breakfast in Wells. It was a bit of a pull so we were relieved when we saw the sign, then we found that there was a long uphill drive to negotiate. Once we were in the garden we had the place to ourselves. There was a box where you put your money -... More

We enjoyed the lovely gardens and views of Wells Cathedral. Bright sunny day showed garden off at its best. We loved the borders and plants. Would have given 5 stars but for the very poor catering at the end - cold tea made with milk that had gone off - it was incredibly lumpy! The elderly lady serving did not... More
