Worth a walk up when visiting the cathedral. Cobbled street lined with cottages that is a really unique spot. It's only about 100 yards long and not that steep, but being cobbled may not be accessible to everyone.

a lovely little street to wander down but that is it - good photo opportunity and its just across from the cathedral and the museum so worth popping into

This is an amazing street which cannot be adequately described on paper. There is a uniformity at first sight and then you see subtle differences in the houses. As the properties are all lived in it is not possible to view them internally but that...More

Unbelievable place. For somewhere built so long ago, it's in fine condition. Absolutely beautiful, although I felt a little intrusive admiring people's homes. Lit up in the sun. Only takes a few minutes, and is free.

Lovely walk along vicars close, you actually feel as if you are walking in the past, looking at the old houses and reading the history behind it

Lovely old street near the cathedral. Look out for the bridge which enabled the vicars choral to get straight to the cathedral without seeing any "worldliness".

We really enjoyed visiting this medieval street and were surprised to learn that residents of Wells continue to live in the beautiful, old stone houses that were once lodges for the choristers of Wells Cathedral.
