Past once before and looked on TA before visit. If you have a hour to kill and love history, well worth a visit. Free, suggested admission £2 and well worth it. Admission free with suggested £2 contribution - which is reasonable. Largest surviving Elizabethan house in UK , that it has done so in the middle of a county town is remarkable. Interesting and informative to walk round at your own pace . Opportunity to see how these houses were constructed and also appreciate its history. Well worth a vist

We stumbled across this building, looked very interesting from the outside, set amongst your normal high street shops. Helpful lady on the desk, we wondered up each staircase and explored every room, lots to take in and read. Wasn't very busy just a woman and her children. We left a donation. Would recommend this to all ages but be aware there... More

Me and my friend are currently doing a media course and we were set a photography task and we decided to come here, it's free but we gave a small donation but very interesting along with it being a beautiful building with lovely clothes and other things on display as well as art work😊

The Ancient High House stands on the main high street in the middle of Stafford. It is a beautiful example of an Elizabethan town house and well worth going if you are visiting Stafford. Entrance is free and there are interesting exhibits in every room. Sometimes there are special exhibitions, so it is worth watching out for these.

This is a small but very interesting museum. The building itself is a wonderful Elizabethan house and on each floor you are invited to explore different subjects: life in a Tudor house, the Tamworth Hoard and the Staffordshire Regiment.

It was quite a small place, but had plenty of interesting things to look at. The lady working there was very friendly - we were happy to give donations.
