The castle is aprox 10 minutes walk from the main road/parking place. Upwards but not hard. Gigantic tress, nice view, most interesting history of the area. Do not gorget to visit the medieval herbs garden, at the entrance of the site.

Stafford castle is a good place to visit for an hour, especially if weather nice. It's only small but the grounds are quite big. There's even a nature walk around the grounds. Definitely go if weather great. Best of all there's no entrance fee and...More

A regular venue for dog walks we trample through the woods around the base of the castle regularly. It also has numerous footpaths leading away from it into the surrounding countryside and so it can easily be used as the basis of a great walk...More

took the children here as it was half term however it is very exposed with no shop or cafe near by. Only go on a nice day otherwise its a wet and dull trip

Decent for walking the dog, few trails to follow, with decent views of Stafford. Walk up to castle is quite steep however.
