The UK’s No.1 Tropical Aqua Park is based in the Heart of the Midlands. Waterworld is an epic adventure for the whole family to enjoy. A great day out in Staffordshire. Prepare yourself for our breath taking white knuckle rides. Experience 375 feet of ups and downs in a single raft. Race family and friends with exciting twists and turns. Descent into our plunge pools or just relax in our Bubble Pools. Jump and ride the waves in our beach effect wave pool or dare you brave the dark cave of our rapids ride with family and friends. In late 2019, we wanted our loyal guests to be the first to know our gigantic new wave system had been installed. This complements our four brand new super thrill rides in Tornado Alley, featuring Thunderbolt, Cyclone, Hurricane and Stormchaser. The tallest, fastest water slides in the UK… Ride them if you dare! We have a large restaurant, which offers a full range of freshly prepared meals, including halal, gluten-free, and nut free choices.

Customer service not great - Lots of mistakes made
Apr 2021
I booked last year when lockdown restrictions eased for my daughter's birthday. The website stated the attraction was open and let me book a family ticket for the day of my choice. I received my ticket but no further information, so called the venue.

Call was answered by the manager, Tim, who informed me the attraction was actually closed and the ticket the company had allowed me to purchase couldn't be used. No apology for the website being in error, but I gave the benefit of the doubt as we're in such a tricky time. He assured me my ticket would still be valid when the attraction was open, and told me to email Kelly.

I emailed Kelly multiple times, with no response. Called the manager again and he said Kelly wasn't back to work yet (odd that he asked me to email her, then) and I should wait. I did. No reply. I emailed Tim again and he asked me to send some alternative dates for my visit, which I did. Again no response. In the end I emailed requesting a refund, as the laxness with customer service and website details didn't inspire confidence that the company was on board with coronoavirus measures and safety guidelines, and with all the back and forth I was obviously becoming quite frustrated. This process had taken about two months by this time. Tim once again did not respond, at all. I ended up claiming back the cost of my ticket via credit card chargeback, which was a pain in itself. Still I heard nothing back from Tim or Kelly.

Also note their website remained in error and was allowing people to book for closed days even after I brought this to the company's attention.

I'm so glad I was able to claim back via my credit card, as I'm a single parent. £72 for a family ticket isn't small change to me. I understand the pandemic has been tricky for everybody and I'm not a big fan of leaving bad reviews. However the purpose of tripadvisor is to let others know what to expect, and based on my experience I would keep expectations low. Many other attractions like this were able to update their websites and keep on top of customer service during the pandemic; the fact this company couldn't was unnerving and means I'll be avoiding them in future.

Great if you go during the week
Sep 2021
I imagine all the negative reviews are from people visiting during weekends/school holidays. If you go during the week, you will walk onto every single ride. I didn't have to queue for a single ride the entire time I was there. Staff great and want to have a chat with you. Best waterpark in North West!

P.S. the water is green for a tropical effect? It is very clean!

Not a good first experience

Water was green and dirty. Staff were blunt and rude. Overcrowded and very expensive for what it is. If you are looking for a nice day out I would not recommend coming here until all these problems have been sorted.

Not worth the time or money

Basically, a waste of time, I’ve emailed before writing this. Water was ice cold 6 attractions closed, green water and nearly £35 each out of pocket. This place has so much potential, it really does. But I won’t be going again when a far better and cheaper park (Splash Landings at Alton Towers) is less than 20 miles away. Ignore the fake positive reviews they are simply false. I wish I had one thing positive to say but I simple dont.

Not great : (

Not a great experience.
They charge for a large amount for entry which you expect and accept. You then arrive and need to pay to park and £2.50 to lock your clothes away. What pool charges for a locker, a deposit I get.
When inside it looks really tired, there was paint flaking off and floating in the pool.
You have to queue to get a ring for rides. We waited in line for over 10 mins to get a ring and went to use it on a ride and was told it couldn't be used as we queued up in the wrong place and we would need to queue again. The rings are identical. Poor customer experience to then wait another 10 plus minutes to pick up an identical ring.
The pool was green! This and blue paint flakes is really off putting.
Wouldn't look to return until they have a refurb, you can't charge high prices and then bot maintain the facilities to a high standard.

Ignore the negative reviews
Felt I must write one as usually don't bother
Waterworld to me was just as good if not better now they have the new slides than it as always been after many years visiting
Found it clean and safe and the lifeguards doing a fantastic job
Efficient and always keeping good watch with the safety of others
They was very helpful with my son who had lost me at one point
I have seen orange pools before it's a chemical reaction to chlorine why it was green not algae as the water is sourced locally and had copper in it
Some folk are so uneducated
Algae infected water goes cloudy and dark green eventually if not cleaned this was clear green
A lot of contradiction it can't be dirty algae infected water if it then stings your eyes durrrh
We didn't notice anything slimy on the foot changing rooms where immaculate and staff working round the clock cleaning toilets tables and changing room
O and to mention the helpful security man on the front desk
All pleasant members of staff throughout
Some making fun with the younger kids
The new slides where brilliant so much choice
We spent all 3 hours and maybe slightly half over our time but it went quiet and wasn't told to leave
I was getting tired though with all the stairs I had to climb but the kids really enjoyed themselves.
Parking and locker keys out abit expensive to say they have already had £60 of my money for three of us but o well not end of the world and these places have to pay there staff what I hope is a decentish wage and for the new features they have put in
Didn't eat in there as I do thinks it's over priced and not the best food
Yeh queues at first where abit long but not bad and I'd advice go later on and not at busy times
I'm sure if you all can go swimming in skeggy or Blackpool sea I'm sure a green chemical reacted well chlorined pool isn't going to spoil your day
Will visit again and will always
As long as you keep the COVID police alway and natural born moaners too who have forgotten how to have fun
Lockdown as certainly changed people
Rant over

Fantastic day out
Sep 2021 • Solo
I went to Waterworld after coming across it accidentally whilst browsing Google Maps one day. I am glad i found it as after spending a day there everything was brilliant, from the reception desk greeting to the excellent lifesavers and pool staff ensuring everyone had a great time and most importantly stayed safe. Overall this place is fantastic with some truly fabulous rides and who doesn’t like a wave machine! A great day out for young and old:)

Loved it !!!

We visited today on the 15.9.21 (Wednesday). We had originally booked to visit in the 6 weeks holidays for my 9 year olds birthday, but having read the horrendous reviews I was very worried about the day being ruined. So I actually rang up to get a refund, which they don’t do. So my only option was to rebook. We rebooked purposely for a day in the week when the schools are back, I’m
So glad we went and the kids cheekily skived the day off school! We had the BEST day EVER!!! No queuing whatsoever, we ran from slide to slide, jumped straight on them all and we did them as leisurely as we pleased as the place was practically empty! It wasn’t dirty, parking & lockers were simple, nice hot showers to use after. I understand it would be a awful day if you keep having to que and wait all day for rides through busy crowds...my advise for anybody is book the day off work and go in the week if you can!! Well worth it and fantastic fun! The slides are amazing!!

Appalling health & safety

I didn’t want to leave a review here, I emailed waterworld after our visit with photos of our injuries, they said their operations manager would reply within 15 working days, it has now been 17 working days and I haven’t heard a peep so they obviously don’t care! To cut a long story short one of the lads who work there sent my daughter and I on a ride with a double ring which he shouldn’t have done and we both ended up injured because of it, this was just after he made my friend feel uncomfortable by eyeing her up in her bikini, there was also a large section of grid missing near the bottom of the rainbow slides with a big nail sticking out underneath the water - I have been to waterworld many times and I cannot believe how downhill it has gone since Covid, never again!!
