Very interesting

Very interesting place. Part of the manor house is now open. Good displays and information. Nice tearoom overlooking the walk to the burial mounds. Good second hand bookshop.

I took my 6 year old son and 22 month old daughter. We went for the Easter egg hunt. Apart from burial mounds there is not much else. They do have a park but this is aimed at older children so neither of my children could play. I would not recommend this place.

The whole site is well set up with lovely walks to see the burial mounds and the site in general and an extremely well organised museum, with facts and details about the Saxons and the Royal Burial Mounds themselves as well as really good replicas of the finds (The originals are in the British Museum). The visitor centre sets the... More

Large car park and impressive visitor centre. Walking trails around the burial mounds on site and the surrounding countryside. The visitor centre contains a really good Interpretation of Anglo Saxon life and very impressive displays relating to the fabulous treasures discovered on the site. It covers everyone from children to historians. Excellent guided walks are available to times. The house... More

We visited here over Easter and it was quite busy with children doing an Easter egg hunt - great fun. Not too busy to spoil our walk around the grounds though. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, the house is delightful and the shop very good. We would always visit again as National Trust members next time we... More

A great location with quite a lot to see and do. Exhibition has plenty of hands on areas and the walk around the burial mounds is fascinating. Enjoy walking a little further using their marked routes. Always a good NT tearoom. Our Easter visit included a great egg hunt. Brilliant day out.

You could prob read my review if lullingstone to get the same effect: interesting and crazy to think this goes back so so far, mysteries unearthed and stories told, incredible artefacts. Ms Pretty's house is quite beautiful and worth strolling around, the various set walks stunning, I'd like to say a big hello to the lovely JB in the secondhand... More

Another visit here. For first time went on a guided walk to mounds. Very good - guide clearly very interested in history of mounds and gave great talk as we walked around and on the mounds - well worth going on guided walk if you get the chance. Then went for a walk around part of grounds. Very interesting ad... More

Mmm what can i say? My wife and i obviously got this place mixed up with somewhere else we visited on a school trip 35 odd years ago. Tired and uninspiring. Tried to feign interest for our kids (9 and 7) but couldnt carry on the charade for long. Our youngest was having none of it though and sussed the... More

This is of interest to all ages. The displays are very clear. Incredible artefacts. I've been here years ago and the display is much more interactive now. You can go inside a reconstruction of the burial. Walks in the grounds to the burial mounds and there is now a viewing platform. Lovely woods. Great display of bluebells. To top it... More
