Spotted the AA signs on the A12 and spent an enjoyable and informative couple of hours at this piece of former top secret history. The explanation of the USAF role with the A10's by a former airman added so much to the experience. Highly recommended.

We went here with a 13,10&4 year old and they really enjoyed searching for the hidden aliens while we learnt some history, the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly, it's not a huge museum but for a fiver an adult (children are free) it was really worth it

Fantastic litlle museum on a massive airfield site. Going back on 9th October for my birthday treat, a walking guided tour of the airfield. The talk by a former serving airman from the base is superb., very informative. I only live in Framlingham about 20 miles away and remember the Phantoms and A10 tank busters flying over, but I learnt... More

This is a really interesting local museum. I have lived in Suffolk long enough to remember when the Bentwaters' base was an USAF operational base and A10 Thunderbolt tank buster planes flashing low across the sky was an everyday occurrence. But the 'what' and 'why' were a secret, It was so interesting to find out what had been going on... More

This is a fascinating insight to the USAF presence at the twin bases and 81TFW including lots of original artefacts which can be nostalgic or provide insights to the real experiences of service personnel stationed at Bentwaters up til 1992.

Live close so thought we would visit. Surprised by how much there is to see and spent all afternoon looking round. Met a real life American serviceman who was stationed her and he told us about his experiences. Give it a go you will not be disappointed

Bit of a backwater, Bentwaters is to find, and you go through security gates and around and about the old airforce base and draw up by the Musum following signs to BCWM. Then the experience begins! Very engaged volunteers look after their visitors, show you around and talk knowledgably and enthusiastically about their topic of interest. Planes and equipment in... More

Friends took us for a visit was not sure what to expect but really enjoyed it , very informative and really brought it all to life imagining what it must have been like to be part of it , so much memorabilia amazed as building did not look very big from outside but obviously a lot of time and effort... I hadn’t done any research before we visited as it was a last minute change of plan due to bad weather. I expected a small museum with few noticeboard and artifacts. What a surprise! The museum is bigger than expected, very educational and staffed by keen volunteers. The exhibition is engaging and really interesting. I lived on the “other side”... More
