The Laing Gallery has a very varied collection, well spaced and good descriptions. We were welcomed by a delightful receptionist called Janet, who was very knowledgable about the gallery and obviously loved art as she did her job. We loved the Quentin Blake exhibition.

This art gallery is a gem, with both fixed and temporary exhibitions. I particularly like the 'on loan' major pieces.

An excellent place to go in as the exhibits are good and they have an excellent café too. You could probably spend half a day going round.

My friend and I spent a few hours in this Gallery whilst on a short break in Newcastle. There was plenty to see and it was arranged so well that you didn't feel the old feet beginning to tire as you moved around to look at the beautiful exhibits. And of course, we finished up with tea and cake in... More

I came here to see the exhibition out of chaos, it's so relevant and is a real thought provoker. Really lucky to have this gallery on my door step. After having a look around I stopped at the cafe for a drink and couldn't resist a slice of cake!

We went to see the " Out of Chaos " and "The Artists Eye" exhibitions both of which were good. There is a pleasant cafe and an excellent shop with a mix of souvenirs and higher quality crafts and gifts.

Took the 38 bus from the station to pilgrim Street, £1.10 had a mooch round the tyneside cinema and then a short walk to laing art gallery. Which is fairly small but perfectly formed. I saw the "modern visionaries" exhibition on till 4th June 2017, there are a number of headline artists work to admire. A pot of tea in... More

This little gallery in the heart of Newcastle is definitely worth a visit, they have a beautiful display of classic art from the local area which is well worth seeing and very informative. I enjoyed listening to recorded voices of local people story telling of times gone by and it was also refreshing to see children enjoying the gallery and... More

It's good for a free gallery, but very small. Has a nice little cafe in it though with reasonable prices and toilets were nice and clean.
