Beautiful area
Dec 2021
Good to visit, a little cold in the winter, but pathways allow a nice walk along the river. Great views of all the bridges.

Great walk
Nov 2021 • Couples
Very well looked after Riverside, we walked along during the day and evening. Lots of places where you can stop for a drink or food. They also have their own local hero's walk of fame, these are plaques of the floor. The lights from the buildings and bridges are stunning in the evening.

Great area for walking
Nov 2021 • Solo
The area beside the River Tyne is very well looked after. As well as a good, flat paved area there are benches to sit and rest and enjoy the view.

There are cycle ways as well so make sure you don't stray onto them or you may get shouted at.

Well worth checking out on your visit to the city.

Nice walk
Oct 2021
We went for a walk along the quayside for the views. It was a 15-minute walk from the city centre and was nice to see.

Heart of the city

Pleasant enough place to stroll alongside the river Tyne. Always something going on at the Quayside. Good for people watching.

Very safe during the day.

Quayside spectacle
Jul 2021
Day or night the Quayside is a place to go , plenty bars, cafes, restaurants and amazing views of Tyne. At night especially it’s buzzing and the sight is especially good by the river as the bridges and buildings are all lit up.

Great place for a walk
Oct 2021
Only a few minutes walk from the heart of the city, this is a great place for a stroll. We walked east from the Millennium Bridge alongside the river and it was so peaceful with nice views up and down the river. Some of the views on the south side are not so pretty but that is because part of that side is still an industrial area.
There are several hotels, bars and restaurants on the north side of the river and the footpath west under the Tyne bridges is wide and well kept.
We didn’t venture the whole length of the path in either direction, but from what we saw it is a worthwhile place to go for a walk or cycle.

A Must See
Oct 2021 • Couples
We didn't know if we would make it down here as it was raining hard but the rain left off and we persevered. We were rewarded with fabulous views of the bridges and old as well as modern architecture along the Tyne. On the North bank there are numerous restaurants and coffee shops in the side streets which are full of character and worth exploring.

A must go destination
Oct 2021 • Friends
Once the busy commercial dockside area and industrial heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne, the Quayside fell on hard times and was rejuvenated to become one of the must go destinations in this vibrant city .
My twin brother Stephen and I had a week's holiday in Newcastle Upon Tyne, our hotel was practically on the Quayside, so much to see ,so much to take in and so much to enjoy, you have the wonderful bridges that cross the River Tyne, the High Level Bridge, The Swing Bridge, The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and of course the magnificent Tyne Bridge, along the Quayside are all manner of pubs, bars and restaurants, its a cool vibrant area of Newcastle Upon Tyne to check out if you're planning a trip to this wonderful city.

A gem in the city

over the years Newcastle/Gateshead quayside has transformed itself into a great place to walk, eat, sit out, and sightsee. The Millennium Bridge opens daily in Summer and is a very special sight
