What a brilliant theatre the Theatre Royal is. No slight on Newcastle or the theatre but we could have been in London. This was my first show outside London and was fantastic. Very well maintained and in an excellent location. Must go more! Seats were...More

Situated near the Gray Monument , the theatre has excellent acoustics for opera. The brilliant Opera North perform here regularly, and West End touring musical productions and ballet are also staples of the repertoire. Very poor cafe facilities with no snacks or coffee easily available.

We weren't able to catch a show but nipped in for a look and it was a lovely old theatre with many features still intact.

The Newcastle Royal is a lovely theatre. The most recent show was a contemporary ballet which wasn't to my taste but the staff were helpful, the theatre clean and seats comfortable. Drinks are pricey but most of these places are. Well worth a visit.

We got the chance for tickets to Art at short notice and to be honest I didn't know that much about it but when I saw who the actors were it would have been rude to say no. It's a beautiful theatre and we had...More
