We done the three bears room and was so much fun, the games master James was a massive help as well giving us a little hint when we needed it! - Connor MNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom3 contributionsFantastic Birthday TreatCame to play the room Save The City on my birthday this week and had such a great time my partner and I immediately booked to play Fiorella's cave straight after! Managed to escape both despite it just being the two of us but the second one was skin of my teeth so good to know that despite the size a group can be, 2 people can still beat the room alone. Looking forward to coming back again to play some more of your rooms. Thank you to Matthew for being a great room runner for our two games!Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 February 2024
- Ian D720 contributionsSo much funWe tackled the Save the City escape room as a group of four. We weren’t sure what to expect as none of us had done an escape room before but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were great, friendly and informative and the puzzles are really well thought out. We managed to solve the room with 13 minutes to spare but we all felt it was touch and go and that the difficulty level was just right. Can’t wait to try another roomVisited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 March 2024

- IckleroseBedlington, United Kingdom14 contributionsretrieve Fiorella's treasure delightWe went as a groups of six for a birthday treat! We did retrieve Fiorella's treasure adventure. It’s was challenging and had to ask for a couple of clues. But it was a great team activity which kept everyone engaged and playing along! The team really do help build the story and set the game really well! I would totally recommend a bottle of water for the room as it does get a bit warm with six peeps! Good mix puzzles, I still stay we got it time at 61 minutes holding your breath! Great place to do group activities and have a laugh!Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 March 2024

The clues were well thought out and easy enough for the children to play a major part in solving them. Lots of unexpected surprises too which made it great fun. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for another challenge. Thanks to our host who helped make our visit so special 😊Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 April 2024

- BizzyBee121Sunderland, United Kingdom55 contributionsBrilliant staff! Excellent time was had!We booked Exit as a team builder for managers at work. After the exchange of a few emails we then also booked the function room for our meeting before the 2 escape rooms started. Firstly the staff were absolutely brilliant! Couldn’t do enough for us! Helped move the room around, found extra chairs and tables and we also had use of a room on the ground level and they supplied hot and cold drinks for us all. The function room did its job! We got the WiFi on, had our meeting and then could leave all our belongings there safely for the time we went to the escape rooms. I had never done an escape room before and I absolutely loved it! I would book this again with friends and family any time I have the opportunity. The team building also worked as we can see the managers working closer together, reaching out to each other and generally communicating so much better between themselves! I am sure this may become a regular event for us and we have recommended it to other people in the business. Again, many thanx for the attention and the fun! Will see you again soon! Exit Newcastle is an escape room experience located in the centre of Newcastle. Located about a five-minute walk from the train station or about a 15 minutes walk from the bus station (Haymarket), the nearest metro station is Central Station. The entrance to the building is subtly placed next to Newcastle Arts Centre and opposite a Wetherspoons pub called The Mile Castle. The signage is discreet and I nearly walked past when I got there for this reason.
I am a manager of a learning disabilities service and I wanted to safe thank you to the small team that I have due to their work over the pandemic. We wanted to do something different that we would enjoy and remember but also, would be fun. One of my colleagues suggested doing an escape room and she raved about the one she did at another location so we booked up. At £60 for 3 of us, I thought this was good value and I looked forward to seeing what all the fuss and excitement was about. We chose the 'Save the City' room which is exactly what the point of the room is.
In case (like me) you have never been to an escape room before, you arrive at the location and the room you have chosen will be themed to a certain topic which dictates why you have to escape the room. You (and usually up to 6 people) are locked in a room and given 1 hour to crack the clues that you need to escape. This can include locating hidden clues, solving puzzles to get numbers for padlocks, using the available information to identify the location of keys and using specialist equipment to help you uncover hidden secrets. The key to escaping is to solve the clues in the correct way to find yourself out of the room before the time runs out. Unfortunately, we did not get out in time but what a laugh we had considering it was our first time and one of our colleagues could not come due to Covid.
We arrived at the location and we were greeted by a really friendly member of staff who showed us into reception and explained the rules of the game. We both took the opportunity to go toilet beforehand so we would not interrupt our gaming experience and then we were shown into our themed room.
I will not spoil it for you but what can I say is that it was a fantastic experience and the host who showed us in and followed our game was brilliant.
For the following hour, my colleague and I scratched our heads, tugged at locks, discovered hidden rooms and keys and generally abandoned all of our common sense to progress through the experience. There were times when we were generally stumped and luckily, there is a hint button where you can call for help as well as a screen with the timer on that can also offer clues if the gamemaster can see you are struggling.
Overall, even though we did not escape, we had a fantastic time and I cannot praise the staff enough for the part they played in facilitating our visit. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to pit their wits against one of the rooms and who wants to do something different either for a celebration or to mix up a night out.
Absolutely loved it!!!

Visited last month with family and was so impressed by the design and ingenuity of the Heist room, the game felt super immersive and we were very helpful aided and abetted by Thomas!
Just returned for the Christmas work night out to do the Attic, and once again was very quickly immersed in the eeriness and spookiness of the room. This time it was Matthew that helped on our daring rescue with a whole range of interesting clues and storytelling.
I would thoroughly recommend Exit, the rooms are varied, fun and all of the staff are such lovely, welcoming, gamesmasters!

The Attic is the best escape room I have ever done. Myself and three others booked this room, the staff were brilliant and the theming was on point. I want to start all of my escape rooms in handcuffs from now on.
The puzzles were varied and challenging. It took all 4 of us and our shared knowledge to escape, which we did with only 39 seconds to spare. So never give up!
I can 100% recommend this game if you enjoy a horror film and enjoy the extra suspense of not knowing what will happen if you don't get out.
I would not recommend this game for those with heart conditions, sensitive personalities or those who are expecting. The game is meant to scare you and it does so with suspense, effects and the entire game being played in limited light. The fellow players add to the atmosphere too depending on their own temperaments.
I'm genuinely sad that I can't play this again and get the same joy from it. Special shout out to our games master, Thomas, who was friendly and helped us when we needed it.
We will be back to try other games at Exit.
Thank you for a fabulous and unique experience!

We had a fantastic experience here at the weekend when as a party of 8, only 2 had done an Escape Room challenge before. We had reached out to the team before our visit for a recommendation, as 2 of the party were deaf, and received a friendly and comprehensive response from James. He suggested Save The City as some clues are given through the screen and not sound. On the day our games master was Ella, and she was very courteous and sympathetic to our needs in allowing us time to relay the general instructions through BSL to the deaf members. The game was all inclusive, and all 4 adults and 4 teenagers were able to contribute throughout the experience, and we managed to escape with just under 10 minutes to spare. Everyone raved about it, and we are really looking forward to a return visit when next in the area. Thanks very much to the EXIT Newcastle team :-)

Great escape room. Staff were excellent.
With some escape rooms you're done once you've solved it. With the one we solved it in about 35 mins but could do other stuff so we got a full hour of testing our brain cells.

We had a brilliant time at EXIT Newcastle. We booked it for my husband's birthday and it was the perfect activity for all the family (2 adults + 13, 10 and 7 year old). The puzzles were challenging enough but not time consuming which meant the children were engaged for the whole time. There's lots of little surprises along the way which keeps it interesting and exciting. The team at EXIT were lovely and our host was really welcoming. We will definitely be back to do another!

We enjoyed the fact that it wasn't too easy, was challenging and fun. I would have preferred to explore more rooms rather than just the two and maybe been a bit more physically demanding to pump up the excitment more. The staff were lovely though. Overall we has a good experience and would recommend to others.

My favourite escape room so far. My friend and I took on the Attic. We had never done horror escape room and it definitely brought in an extra element. My friend was bricking it before we even went it and the host told us afterwards her screams had scared another group - sorry if it was you 😂. We won’t give any spoilers, but everything matters! Wish I could forget the clues and do it again. Will definitely be coming again. The host was really friendly and built up the fear factor before we started

Six of the family and I had a great time here. We were communicated with from booking and I even took a rain cheque for over a year and they still fulfilled my booking, and at no point did I feel worried they wouldn't. We were greeted by friendly staff despite us being slightly tardy with our arrival, who explained everything to us well and hyped us up. The staff were so helpful and reassuring.
If you can get parked early it's in a great location, don't get it confused with the other escape rooms in the area as we did. As it's in the city centre public transport links are great, just across from Central Station.
We accomplished a successful escape albeit with no time to spare and this was our first ever escape room so we were delighted. All of us contributed something to the escape and had there been one person less, maybe we'd still be in there! We did the Attic room and it was a little scary even for the grown-ups, not to mention the situation you initially find yourself in (no spoilers).
We were impressed with the task complexity but reasonability and we were truly challenged and felt good as each part came together.
I would recommend this for anyone looking for an alternative activity as you can wear what you like (smart or casual) and you're there for almost 90mins in total. We would love to do another room and can see this being a regular on ourfamily days.

I've seen that some people say the Attic is scary but others say it's not. Can I ask if it's suitable for a 16 year old and for someone older but who absolutely hates horror films? There'll be a group of us but I wanted to check before booking to make sure it's suitable for everyone.
Written 21 November 2017
It's a little bit on the scary side at first but if you go in wanting to have a good time and a bit of a laugh, I'm sure you'll be able to cope with it. We had a few younger members in our group and I'm not a big fan of horror films myself and I enjoyed it! I'd say it's less on the horror side and more on the murder mystery side of things. The atmosphere in the Attic can be intense but once you're focusing on solving the puzzles, you'll be fine.

Hi how many people do you need to take part and how long does it take
Thank you
Written 21 September 2017
Hi Michelle
Thanks for the question. All our games are playable with a minimum of 2 people. Our largest game, Save the City, can hold up to 8 people and for larger groups we can run multiple games.
All the games last for up to 1 hour, but your time is dependent on how fast you guys are able to solve the clues!
Written 21 September 2017
Hello!
Im looking to come and do this in the next couple of weeks.
Due to certain members of the group having done 2/3 of the games, the only one left to do is 'The Attic'.
The rest of the group havent done an escape room before so would you say this room is suitable for a first time? Im aware it says it is advanced on the website so just want to check how useless we would be if we havent done one before.we are all over 18 and enjoy puzzles so have 'experience' but not in this scenario. Also, how scary is it? theres no clowns or jumping people are there? im slightly concerned haha
Another question perhaps to ask is if we were to do one of the other rooms (if i wuss out), would it be identical for the person in the group who has already done it or does it change over time?
Any advice is appreciated
Written 7 January 2017
I would definitely say this is suitable for first timers. They explain anything you need before hand. It's more common sense than anything else and trying not to panic! It is quite scary (I thought) but so much fun. Definitely recommend it.

I would like to bring a group of students (16 year old girls) who are disengaged with school. I want to raise self esteem and get them to have fun and a laugh. Worried that they may just give up. Any advice about suitability?
Written 8 December 2016
Use the maximum group size possible so their is enough people to help solve the clues. Will will enjoy it.
Written 3 January 2017
is it suitable deaf and pregnant? because we are profoundly deaf who are interesting to join this :-D
Written 6 September 2016
Rob we went and if I'm honest it should be fine if you are deaf! One of the people in my party is hard of hearing and my mate had to translate things on the introduction video. I'd recommend taking someone who can translate for you, but it should be fine if you can't hear - might be a bit harder, and you won't get the introduction story! Also can't imagine it being a problem if you're pregnant - just don't do The Attic, there's a lot of audio stuff! Stick with Save The City!

Hello i was wondering if it is suitable for a young couple both aged 28 to come on outlet own or is it more of a family group event?
Written 8 March 2016
Hello,
Exit Newcastle is suitable for all group sizes and ages! The only restriction is that under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.
We have had hundreds of couples come and do our games together and thoroughly enjoy it!
We hope to see you both soon.

Is there parking nearby? do you have facilities, eg coffee shop, bathrooms, baby change etc?
Written 9 February 2016
Hello,
There is a mix of council car parks and on street parking all within walking distance and can be used for a small charge. If you would like more specific locations or info then please get in touch or take a look at our FAQ's on our website.
We do not have baby change or a coffee shop (there are plenty of great coffee spots just around the corner). We do have bathrooms though.
Thanks,
Brad

Would this suit a group of 14 yr old girls?
Written 6 October 2015
Hello Tony,
Exit Newcastle is a great activity for all ages and we do not set an upper or lower limit on age. We would however insist that an adult was present either in the building or with them in the game itself.
