The theatre tells you that some circle seats are a bit higher than usual. This is an understatement. Don't be taken in! They are perches not seats and despite spending a lot of money, we had to leave at the theatre at the interval because...More

Excellent bawdy cynical comedy, written in 1700 by a woman, about the problems of finding the right husband even when you are loaded! Performed with great gusto! Only problem with the play is that it is hard to identify with any character.

We didn't know what to expect with an understudy rehearsal for Romeo and Juliet, but thought for £10 we'd give it a go. Had great seats in the front row of the circle. It was a modern performance without 'proper' costumes and limited scenery but...More

Went to see Romeo and Juliet for our anniversary. Was amazing. The actors were wonderful, the modern, minimalist set design was eye catching and relevant. A must visit venue for any Shakespeare fan. That being said, it is 4 because the seats were utterly horrendous....More

Romeo and Juliet in modern dress regional accents and in many cases played for laughs was not our preference. Too loud. Shakespeare to me is all about the great language. This performance did not honour it.

If you're expecting Tudor dresses, tunics, etc...you might be surprised when you see denim, tracksuit trousers and electric guitars! At first, I was a bit taken aback but the acting shone through. In particular, the young lady who played Juliet (on Tuesday 15 May) was...More

Macbeth with Christopher Eccleston and Niamh Cusack was brilliant, a wonderful interpretation and the whole cast was brilliant. The next day we did The Play’s The Thing your which was amazing, behind the scenes insights and really interesting information. Our guide, John, was great. Well...More

This is a production without costumes, without scenery, and without sound. Not a good start! It also decided to have actors with various regional accents and no amplification, so all the dialogue had to be shouted or it was not heard and sounded mumbled (or...More

The stalls had plenty of leg room for us and I'm pretty tall.... Think we were in about 4 rows from the front...

There is also a car park by the side of the Premier Inn Waterways by the side of the canal. As long as children supervised you can walk along tow path to RSC, about 15 mins walk.
