This was the second time for me & hubby but first for the rest of the family. We'd watched a performance of The Tempest the night before so seeing props and costumes linked with this added hugely. Our tour guide Lesley was very enthusiastic and informative. She kept the explanations interesting and we all learned a lot. Her anecdotes from performances... More

This was our first time at the Royal Shakespear Theatre and we weren't disappointed. The production was second to none and although I find it difficult to follow Shakespear's language I still enjoyed the show. My two son's 12 and 14, throughly enjoyed it from start to finish especially the special effects. Only downside is why do theatre's charge so... More

I hovered between three and four stars for this review. It's the RSC, so it is excellent, but I judge them by higher standards. First the much vaunted technology. this has much the feeling of a first step. In projecting the scenery of the island, and giving a lush colouring, it is excellent. The mo-cap was less successful. Firstly for... More

We went on the tour which gave access behind the scenes. Very informative and enjoyable. Tickets were quite cheap as far as Stratford attractions go.

Really enjoyed our "behind the scenes" tour. Our guide (David ) was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned a lot about the history of the theatre, the plays, the actors, what happens behind the scenes, etc. An unmissable experience for anyone interested in "the theatre "! Don't miss a trip up the RSC Tower either. Fabulous view of Stratford upon Avon... More

I was disappointed by the service received at the theatre on my visit. Paying a premium for tickets I feel deserves a modicum of respect from the staff, especially when simple mistakes are made, unfortunately on the night in question I had sat in the wrong seat, just one down from the seat I was supposed to be in. The... More

We were fortunate to be seated near the stage with a small shelf in front of our seats. Very good views of the performers. Was very impressed that the bar offers complimentary bottled water to patrons. Tickets are a small fraction of what one would spend to see a Broadway show in NY and the performance was a quality performance.

Just saw Greg Doran's wonderfully innovative production of The Tempest with Simon Russell Beale as Prospero. The drama works well, there's comedy too and the use of technology adds to the magic. Unmissable.

A first class performance of this play, enhanced by some amazing technology. However, it was the excellent acting, and the beauty of Shakespeare's dialogue, that made the event so memorable. Unlike all my previous visits, I was in the lower circle, rather than the back of the stalls in restricted view seats. I much preferred the stalls, although other members... More

Where do I start. Last night we saw the Tempest. What an incredible performance. Beyond my wildest expectations. The set, the costumes and acting were all amazing. If you can possibly get the chance to see this production you really must go. I can't believe I have never been to the RSC before I will certainly be coming again even... More
