...shame about the performance I was there to see. 'The Hypocrite' was a disappointing, poorly written play; one that's best forgotten. The Swan Theatre's not the most comfortable theatre if you're up in one of the galleries; great atmosphere, but I think next time I'd prefer to be down in the body of the theatre itself.

A museum was open on the second floor so good to have a taster of the theatre. Very busy but lovely to watch the wildlife on the river as well as seeing so many old buildings.

It's a while since we attended a performance at The Swan - all of our recent ones have been in the main theatre), so it was good to return for this performance by Hull truck (coincidentally we were due to visit the CoC the next day!). The cast gave us an amazing hilarious experience in this wonderfully intimate place.

the Hypocrite , no use me recommending it now, as the run ends on April 30 ,but if you can catch it else where do ,the last time I saw my husband laugh so much was at a re run of a Billy Connolly show .So I DO think you need to a be a fan , to appreciate this... More

We had looked forward to visiting the revamped exhibition at the Swan Theatre, The Play's the Thing, as we knew the old version well. There are some very impressive interactive exhibits now. Highlights for our two girls (ages 9 and 11), were being able to see yourself in a variety of costumes electronically and email the finished shot to yourself,... More

We saw 'The Hypocrite'. It was our first experience. It was out of this world! Amazing- we loved it. Everyone needs humour. Wendy and Derek

The Swan Theatre is just fantastic and an excellent production of The Hypocrite from Hull truck including a free post-performance talk with the actors. The cost of seats is great value compared with London and a much pleasanter venue. Very helpful staff, just don't understand why they have changed the shop round as it impedes the flow of people walking... More

Just seen The Hypocrite following it's transfer from Hull and thought it was a first-class entertaining production with many laugh out loud moments. However,we would not go to the Swan again unless we could obtain better seats-we were in Gallery 2.The two wooden "safety" beams in front of the seats completely block one's view of the stage and as a result... We are regulars at this theatre which is smaller and more intimate than the main RSC stage and often stages the more interesting season of plays out of the two. We have just seem to see The Hypocrite which was no exception. Well acted and highly engaging. However, the theatre is definitely let down by the seating which needs very... More

Came to the Swan Theatre to see The Hypocrite. This was our first visit and it certainly made an impression & appeared like a modern incarnation of a Shakespearian theatre with tiered galleries and a projecting stage surrounded by seats on 3 sides. We were in side seats on Gallery 1 but certainly did not feel we had a restricted... More
