Leaving the barge lock and walking out alongside the river (opposite RSC), there is plenty of wildlife and flora to see. Loved teaching kids about locks, liked watching rowers and swans. Lovely countryside river stroll even in winter.

The River Avon, with its consistently attractive views and waterside gardens, theatre and church, is one of the strengths of Stratford, so take advantage of it and walk its banks.

The first part of the walk is easy going along a wide path where the swans are in abundance and there are lots of people walking their dogs and... More

Took two evening walks along this river trail, and dreamed of taking a long trip by boat down this river one day.
