Living in the area gives me lots of opportunities to pass this impressive sculpture of the iconic Spitfire. Positioned in the centre of a roundabout on a major road makes it tricky for a driver to fully appreciate the flowing forms of the piece nevertheless...More

A lovely piece of art work dedicated to the Spitfire. Just unfortunate in the middle of a very busy roundabout so the driver can't really appreciate it.

Great idea to commemorate the building of Spitfire aircraft at the current home of Jaguar cars. Roundabout could do with brightening up though then again it's a roundabout.

It's been a while but I came back to see the island, as when I was an air cadet I attended the unveiling of this statue. It's a fantastic site, not menu people notice but if you look at the gates of the jag plant...More

Due to road works and shift change at the local Jaguar factory I was able to study the sculpture for some time whilst sitting in a traffic jam
