A wonderful, peaceful space, that is welcoming to all peoples but a place where you can alone with your thoughts. Light a candle for a loved one, listen to the music recitals and enjoy the Burne Jones stained glass windows. Beautiful.

I liked the colourful Burne Jones stained glass windows in the cathedral, and there was a lot of information about them including a book for sale.

This fine little cathedral, located within very easy reach of New Street Station, is well worth a visit if you have a bit of time on your hands while you're in Brum. The stained glass windows are stunning. I was lucky enough to pop in while the choir were rehearsing and the two together created a very memorable atmosphere. There... More

We nearly missed this attraction due to sore feet but once we were inside the cathedral our spirits were lifted by the spectacular windows. The rest of the building is impressive and the interior is peaceful and welcoming.

Hadn't visited this cathdedral for nearly twenty years and had forgotten how small it is. It sits in a small park-like church yard, very well kept and a nice place to sit. The cathedral itself is very baroque in style, having originally been a parish church. It became the city's cathedral in 1905 and is probably most famous for its... More

A visit to the cathedral after some extensive work was done on it recently. Last time we went we couldn't see much because of the building work. This time we were able to view the beautiful interior without interference. A lovely building in the heart of the city with the most wonderful Burnes-Jones stained glass windows. The image of the... The Cathedral of St. Philip, aka Birmingham Cathedral, is the third smallest cathedral in the United Kingdom. Usually open to visitors during the day, the visit is (of course) free, and photography is allowed - and also free. It is a small but stunning Baroque church, quite different in design from the many neo-classical cathedrals in England. Its main claim... More
