We were just aimlessly walking around Coventry and came across the old cathedral. Its left open so you can walk inside and have a look for free and has a small gift shop located in the remaining tower structure. You can go up for a small fee but we opted not to. Its a great place.

I guess Cathedrals mean different things to different people. For me personally these 2 Cathedrals show the older and more conventional building and the 'before its time' modern replacement. The small Chapel of Unity to the left of the front entrance provides a place for all, regardless of faith, and is a welcoming area in which to contemplate. The main... More

I visited here with my family. It is a lovely place to learn a bit of history. My sister had her convocation in the halls so it has memories attached. We enjoyed out day out here.

Coventry Cathedral - both old and new is worth a visit. The old bombed-out Cathedral is a permanent reminder of the folly of war, and a memorial to the enduring power of peace and reconciliation. The new Cathedral uses light so well, and has a lot to see if you take the time to stop and read the informative boards... More

If you are interested in the History of the Blitz and how a new cathedral was built from the bombed ashes of the old then this beautiful serene place is a great visit. In the centre of Coventry the old bombed cathedral ruins stand in defiance next to the new. An app that you can download to your phone shows... More

If you are heading to Coventry you must go to the cathedral. Its beautiful and really makes you think about the second world war. Brilliant place to think and learn, and you can also walk up the tower for £2.50 but it is high and the steps are very narrow and tricky! But great fun!
