Paid for a full ticket which gives you access to the gardens, keep, grounds and all the rooms that are open to the public in the house itself. There is a lot to see so I would recommend allowing several hours - and perhaps having a lunch or snack in the restaurant to provide a breather. The chapel is stunning,... More

Took a day out of London and found Arundel Castle an absolute gem. Beautiful, extensive castle grounds and garden, and the castle itself is really nice.

Many years ago I had seen Arundel Castle from a train heading in to London from the coast. The town of Arundel and castle stand out in what is otherwise flat land and the view had stuck with me. I was not disappointed when we visited this year. The castle is pristine and the gardens are enchanting. I was particularly... More

From the breathtaking view as you first see the castle to the tiny rooms in the castle keep this place is truly magical. So much history in one place, and is bought alive not only by the dummies in the rooms but also by the re-enactors around the site. All the guides were so very helpful and pleasant.

We decided to have a day out at the castle with the children. This is one of the most beautiful places ever. We explored inside the castle and had lunch inside the nresturant which was good value for money. The views from the top of the castle were beautiful. There was also activities going on which included birds of prey.... More

Well I have to say in one hand great in another bit dull, yes it does have amazing history going back hundreds of years, did you know the castle was once made of wood, it's true, not that any of the staff could tell you much about its history, the grounds are great and over the year some good events... As you walk up the path from the gate to the castle you get a sense of the enormity of this castle building as you are dwarfed by the castles magnificent walls and tower. Part of the castle is also built on a motte (a mound). The rooms in the castle are stunning, my favourite being the richly coloured and... More

Arundel is one of the most important castles in the country with a very long and illustrious history. The castle provides a good insight into many of the key periods in its history and the collections are well-curated and interesting. Of particular interest to me were the paintings, including the family portraits, and a number of Van Dycks. Also interesting... More

Took my nephew who was visiting from Canada and he loved it. We spend hours exploring the castle and the gardens. What a beautiful place, there is something magical about it. The gardens are so enchanting and well looked after I gasped at every step and corner. Someone nearby proposed to his girlfriend as it's such a beautiful and special... More
