This is one of the most beautiful churches in this area, rosewood interior with a raised balcony and pulpit. A great place to pray!!

This is a nice Victorian evangelical Church of England chapel, it is peaceful and unspoilt situated in the centre of Chichester. However, having of a rather puritan reformed background the chapel has a rather cold and empty feel and rather lacks atmosphere.

Visiting Chichester we decided the follow the city trail path the goes all around the town. One of the highlighted places was the St John's chapel so we gave it a go. We started looking for it and we ended up at St Pancras. Then we kep wandering around and we eventually found a sign "St John's Church". Once we... More

A beautiful Georgian Chapel - unspoiled by progress. A real gem. Thank God that it is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

This plain, unadorned Georgian Chapel is only a few yards away from the bustling City Centre shops. Yet I wonder how many people who visit, live or work in Chichester are even aware of its existence. It is a redundant church but to me possesses an intense sense of spirituality. Do seek out this building and sit for a while... More

I only found it from the sign in Market Street. It is worth a look. There was no one inside so was very peaceful. It reminded me of a Quaker meeting house than an English chapel. There is a picture supposedly of the organ which was wierd. Interesting balcony.

It is all too easy to pass by St John's because the exterior is not very inviting. However, once those who venture inside are in for a treat. It may be small, but it is well worth a visit.

We wanted to visit this Chapel/Church and it took us ages to find it. On some maps it is labelled Church on others it is labelled Chapel. Well what a find when you do find it. A bit eerie and love the picture of the false organ at the top. Very quiet and peaceful place to go.

I have visited Chichester on day trips for many years and have only recently heard about this chapel from Trip Advisor. It is definitely worth visiting this chapel. It is a time capsule and a lovely place to relax from the busy streets and yet only minutes away. The box pews and the lectern (?) are really interesting and I... More

We have made regular trips to Chichester for many years but we were only alerted to this architectural gem by the Trip Advisor reviews. We visited yesterday and loved the unusual nature of the building. Our initial impression was of a Baptist Chapel especially with the dominance of the splendid triple decker pulpit which masks the tiny altar on the... More
