We met Johnnie Briggs in the visitor information centre (superb facility right on hand in the main street). He was relaxed, friendly and had a twinkle in his eye, all of which told us we were in for a treat. Was it really two hours? It flew by! Johnnie is a born storyteller who will keep you and your family... More

A very interesting chap, Johnnie Briggs, with an amazing memory for detail, and a great story teller. He kept us enthralled for a couple of hours and we probably didn't walk more than a mile in total. It was a private tour being low season, as I hate the crocodile of people traipsing about so slowly and having private conversations... More

Wish I had recorded all Johnnie had to say, there was simply no way my husband & I could take it all in, what an amazing mine of information, names & dates. A thoroughly pleasant few hours with a really charming man. Highly recommend

Me and my partner had the most amazing Bronte experience in Haworth , and all due to Johnnie Briggs inspiring knowledge about this famous family. I recommend this to everyone who is interested in history and books.

I booked Johnnie for a whole week of assorted tours both walking and driving. His deep knowledge of Haworth and other parts of Yorkshire was impressive and inspiring. I would have been lost on my own. Cannot wait to use him again on return!

Booked Mr Johnnie Briggs for the moor walk/tour and I'm so glad I did. Just the two of us, we went up to Top Withens and a little beyond, round trip 8 miles-ish, nice gentle pace with plenty of rest stops if you need them. Johnnie's head is rich in facts of course (the Brontes, the landscape, the history, the... More

My sister and I spent a lovely afternoon in Haworth with Johnnie. We met with him at noon and as it started raining too heavily to walk in the moors, he took us first around the town telling us about the Bronte family history in detail. He is such a great story teller that my sister started crying at one... More

In all my travels I have never had the good fortune to meet a guide as likable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his subject as Johnnie Briggs. Johnny does not talk AT you, he has a conversation with you, at the end of which you realize you've learned a lot. We engaged his services for 3 days. The first day he... More

Booked this walk via tourist information. Which entitled us money off in the museum. John was fantastic told us loads of history not just about the Brontes but also that era as a whole. Very good value for money, well over an hour. Walk suitable for all physical abilities. Not suitable for uner 12's unless very keen on the Brontes. Would... More

Johnnie's talk and tour was so engaging, informative and entertaining. His knowledge of the Brontë story is very impressive, he knows such a lot of detail and his delivery meant we felt quite emotional at the end of the talk when we learned what happened to all the family.
