About
The Almonry is a beautiful C14th building in the heart of the historic market town of Evesham. Once the home of the Almoner, one of the Benedictine Monks from the Abbey, the Almonry is now the town museum, Tourist Information Centre and gift shop. The museum tells the story of Evesham and the Vale from pre-history to mid-twentieth century with a beautiful garden, ideal for sitting and relaxing. Our gift shop stocks a wide range of souvenirs, postcards, walking maps and guides, books, gifts and handcrafted goods made by local makers and crafters. The Tourist Information Centre is packed with leaflets and guides to Evesham and the surrounding area. TIC staff are on hand to welcome you to Evesham and to help you get the most out of your visit and stay.

Fabulous and very informative English Civil War history walk around Evesham and back to see the re-enactors in the Almonry Garden. I found out so much I didn't know about the history of Evesham at that time and about the weapons used.

Went to this museum with a view to looking round. It was late afternoon, so we were aware of limited time. The young man on the till where you purchased tickets was talking to 2 ladies and telling them some story, we stood at the counter for about 10 minutes only to be ignored by both the staff and the 2 ladies, found this rude so decided to leave, such a shame as i am sure they need paying visitors.

A fantastic couple of hours learning about Simon de Montfort, dissolution of the monasteries, life in gaol and PoW in Germany 1940s … and lots more. Woolly mammoths, huge molluscs, and old school rooms. Brilliant!

Just had a lovely time with the grandchildren at "Knight school" at the Almonry. The teacher was very patient and informative, the two girls loved it. They both recieved certificates and a free sword at the end.
Excellent fun and well worth the £5.
We would definately go back.
Thank you to everyone at the Almonry.

Very informative and knowledgeable front of house staff. The exhibits were well presented, clean and labelled so you knew what you were looking at. The visitor guide help steer you around the building and into the many individual rooms each depicting a different focus of local life in and around Evesham. Well worth a visit and the small entrance fee. Brilliant and fantastic, would go again. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

I went with my Ukrainian guests to find out about the buses from my village. Printed timetables beloved by dinosaurs like me are a thing of the past. Matters have been complicated by a couple of local bus companies ceasing to operate because of lockdown. The very helpful lady at the desk spent some time looking up and printing off the relevant bus timetables and we are all indebted to her knowledge and perseverance.
The strange questions at the end of this review are geared towards the museum rather than the tourist information. We weren't there for over 3 hours, more like 20 minutes but I know the museum well and have answered the questions from that knowledge.
BTW, it's got a brilliant shop!

Interesting local museum, captures much of the local heritage in a beautiful building. The garden is charming in the summer.

A must visit when in Evesham. Lots of artefacts to see arranged in topics. Don't miss the bits and pieces in the garden.
