About
Offering far more than an ordinary cinema, our day time up-market coffee shop turns into a wine bar in the evening alongside our Circle and Auditorium Bars. Audiences have the choice to watch films sat at candlelit tables on the ground floor or to snuggle up in the double love seats, regular seats or one of our four Royal Boxes in the circle and enjoy refreshments from any of our bars, before, during and after the film... Films range from blockbusters to classics, family favourites to art house and independent. We have family films every weekend and extra family shows in the holidays, as well as parent and baby shows on Thursday mornings. On Tuesdays we host Silver Screen matinee shows and Big Breakfast screenings are the perfect start to the day. The Regal is a true community venue, and, in addition to films and live screenings from the Royal Opera House, we host a broad range of events live music and comedy, as well as other live performances.

It's all about an experience! I've come to this cinema for the first time, as I've just moved into the area, and it is by far the best cinema experience I've had in a long time! I'm used to London-based independent cinemas, but this place has the edge on customer service! Thanks Antonia, for being a huge part of a positive and welcoming experience at The Regal. Keep up the stirling work.

I just love this place. It’s really lovely inside, great experience, comfortable seating, table service for food and drinks which are also great. My favourite way to see a movie or a gig or a live show. Amazing. Only down side is that big blockbuster films do sometimes show a little later than at the usual multiplex cinemas. 100% worth the wait though. Recommended to anyone and everyone to go here. You won’t be disappointed.

Just come back from our first visit to this real gem. We had a table downstairs and enjoyed delicious food whilst watching Guardians of The Galaxy 3. I had pre ordered our drinks and food. Drinks waiting at our table and food arrived shortly after we sat down. Really comfy seats. Lovely introduction by member of staff before screening. Bar service great. My son also ordered a dessert whilst we were watching film - fantastic service. Can’t praise this venue enough. We’ll definitely be back again. Made watching a great film a really exceptional experience - check out what’s on on their Facebook page and go. You won’t regret it

What a gem! You sit in fours not in rows in the main section. The chairs are really comfy and the staff were very helpful. They really wanted you to enjoy yourself. Free tea and coffee and biscuits for the afternoon showing. Well worth a visit and worth supporting.

It is a lovely cinema but appalled at how much extra you charge as an online booking fee, it’s RIDICULOUS! Booked our next trip elsewhere and booking fee is only 95p instead of £3 each!

Dear Caperry, Thanks for your valued feedback - I was hoping to call you but we don't seem to have a contact number for you. My number is below, do give me a call if you wish to discuss further. In the meantime, here is my response to your question/complaint about the venue charge. What we decided to do was to keep our prices the same but to provide on the ticket what is basically an itemized bill, showing how the total amount paid is broken down. Your ticket is therefore now broken down showing 2 elements: the venue charge covers our operating costs including staff and building upkeep and the ticket element is what we share with film distributors. Our prices have not increased and this is not an additional charge - it is part of the charge which is now disclosed. In addition, we removed our Web Booking Fee of £1.65! I believe it is true that we offer excellent value and that the price you pay is competitive with other local cinemas. We do have special offers for members and occasionally generally-available special offers which mean that we may be less expensive, as other cinemas do from time to time. As a small independent cinema we are committed to keeping prices reasonable and offering great service and a beautiful venue. As said above, I am very happy to discuss this by phone if you can provide a number, or do give me a call on my number below. Thanks for taking the time to write. Best wishes, Antonia 01386 421 007

What an experience. We visited for a birthday treat, while staying in the area. Takes you back to a glorious era. Wonderful staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Stunning building and surroundings. We had a loveseat, which was basically a comfy, roomy sofa for two, with cushions, table and candle. Wish we lived nearer, to go again and again
