Nestling at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Malvern Theatres is a major centre for the arts in the West Midlands. Home of the famous Malvern Festivals, founded by Bernard Shaw and Barry Jackson in 1929, the theatre underwent a lottery-funded refurbishment in 1997. Hailed both locally and nationally as a model of artistic and architectural excellence, Malvern Theatres boasts one of the most diverse selection of plays, music, comedy, dance, film and education work to be found under a single roof anywhere in the country.

On a stay with family in Malvern we went to see Nell Gwyn here at the theatre. The space is also used for local artists and has a cinema inside, a cafe and a theatre bar. It's a beautiful building with disabled parking right outside and a lift easily accessible and stunning views over the park from the theatre level.... More

My first visit, to catch "Nell Gwynn" which is not touring to theatres nearer to me. The foyer, bar and bistro are bright and modern, so the theatre itself was a bit of a shock. I like the theatre, but if the seat I had is typical, they are in desperate need of replacement as I was very uncomfortable towards... More

Dear KMJ742, Thank you very much for your review. I'm sorry to read that you found the Festival theatre a shock however I'm pleased to say that we are currently fundraising to replace all 850 seats in the auditorium which will be completed early next year. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes, Michael Wilson More

Staff are very good here, polite friendly and more importantly helpful, 1st time visit here to see Sam Bailey X factor winner, performing in a live show, Would definitely visit again to see other acts and performances, shame the downside is the booking fees.

Dear Dean W, I'm so pleased to read of your evening with us last Saturday. It was a wonderful performance and I'm delighted that you found our staff friendly and helpful. I'm very sorry if you feel the booking fees have lessened your great experience with us. Unfortunately, it is the only way we can keep the doors open to... More

£10 for a glass of Prosecco! That's more than my wife paid for Champagne in the London Coliseum only a short time ago. And the rather large booking fee on every ticket! Their core business, their only business other than the prosecco racket, is selling theatre tickets. How can it be justifiable to extort a surcharge on those who wish... More

Dear derekl62, I'm very disappointed to read your views on our theatre. We sell Prosecco in small and large bottles, the small being 200ml which is enough for 2 glasses. The prices are constantly compared to local bars and other regional theatres to ensure that they are value for money but I do apologise if you feel you were overcharged.... More

Visited the theatre for a performance of Gaslight starring Kara Tointon and Keith Allen. There is a second theatre space called the forum and a cinema. You can eat and drink in the theatres. There are a variety of eating places within easy walking distance some of which cater especially for pretty theatre meals. Many of the plays which come... More

Being a fan of Peter James the idea of seeing a play of one of his books was a great opportunity. This was a family trip to celebrate my other halve's birthday. My father in law had used the theatre before so was aware of the location and where to park. We dropped off members of the family and managed... More

Whilst visiting Malvern, we decided to spend the afternoon at the cinema here to watch a movie after being outdoors on what was a wet and rainy day. It was a welcome change from the cold weather outside and the movie "Sing" which was being screened was quite entertaining and fun to watch. There is a cafe and bar for... More

We mostly go here to see movies. The seats are comfortable and they screen popular films at the same time as the chain cinemas. It feels a bit like an arts cinema

We love our Malvern theatre experiences and have never been disappointed, until now that is. Our previous experience of Carmen was the lavish production at the O2 with the RPO but surprisingly we found it lacked the intimacy we were looking for. It was time to put it right having booked tickets for Carmen in a theatre we love because... More

Dear tubawolves, I'm very disappointed to read that you did not enjoy Carmen on Thursday evening. As a receiving house, we unfortunately don't have any input on the artistic side of a production but I'm very sorry if your opinion of the opera has reflected badly upon the theatre as a whole.
