Amazing little hothouse

Stuck for something to show our visitors, we spent several hours in this small hothouse as there were so many lovely creatures to see! Cafe nearby. Well worth a visit.

Essentially it is a hot tent next to a power station, in itself this is fine, but whilst inside the make shift butterfly sauna, there seemed to be a limited variety of butterflies. It is also important to bear in mind that due to the (essential) humidity, that cameras, whilst recommended, mist up easily, and that you will probably not... More

Lovely place set up to help educate and bring both kids and adults closer to nature. Whilst the house itself isnt huge, it can fill with around 400 butterflies in the summer! But what made our trip was chatting to the owner who was clearly passionate about the environment, the butterflies and the plants. His knowledge was endless and his... More

Located in a lovely area with stunning views over the Rheidol Valley there is a lovely walk around the lake and if your feeling a bit more adventurous some great walks up through the woods with great views down the valley, very peaceful.

The butterfly house is set in an outstanding location overlooking a reservoir in the valley. Upon entering the polly tunnel I was greeted with many butterflies gently flying from one tropical plant to another. There are so many plants for them to enjoy and it feels a very natural habitat. As the temperature cooled during my visit I noticed less... More

A little on the expensive side but to see the kids faces when they can actually hold the butterflies its well worth it. If your wanting to take pictures with dslr cameras then they need to be in there sometime as the room is very warm (its a big greenhouse) and the lenses steam up. Ok to take pics on... More

It's been some years since we stopped at the Butterfly house. I'm glad we stopped again. Our children are grown up but there still nothing as lovely as sitting with time in a mini tropical paradise with stunning creatures fluttering silently around you. It's simple, but it's effective. It's also expensive. But, rightly so.

Our last full day of our holiday we planned to visit the Butterfly House as it was local to where we stayed. Upon arrival the visitor centre was closed so we followed the path round and came to what can only be described as half the size of a poly tunnel! There was myself, my partner and my mom and...
