Worth a visit, lots of interesting quirky bygones to see and a big exhibition space showing quilts and stitching. only partly open due to water damage but certainly worth a visit

We attended a jazz event back in Feb and it was really good. The place was packed! Only downside was the very limited selection of alcohol as most of what we asked for was sold out. All in all, a great night.

We went inside to hide from the rain and were very positively surprised. Plenty of interesting history located on three floors!

Called in whilst in the area for a few days and what a pleasant surprise. Didn't realise all this was above the tourist info place!!! Beautiful old theatre and amazing museum pieces, comfortable to walk around and look at everything. I could have spent all day in there to be honest!!! You can actually get up close to the exhibits instead of everything behind glass and there is a lovely atmosphere in the place, we called on a quiet Friday morning so no screaming kids to ruin everything.

A fascinating tour of Welsh history in an old theatre, spread over several floors. Oh, and it's free of charge to enter.

A good gift shop downstairs too!

The museum is a sweet, sort of obscure and slightly odd in the best way. The cafe used to be amazing would go in all the time for coffee, cake and great food. However, over the last 6 months - maybe closer to a year. The cafe has totally gone to crap. The coffee is awful, it is clear no one there knows properly how to work the machine, the coffee is burnt and the milk is never what you want unless you want burnt milk that is never frothed correctly. The food is just on a whole other level of bad. Blatantly frozen and microwaved and is always a weird mix of burnt and cold, soggy and chewy, too salty and bland. The 'chef' (it's a stretch to say he is a chef) is rude and unaccommodating, I have actually witnessed him pretending to SLIT HIS WRISTS WITH A KNIFE!!! This was apparently a joke. But truthfully is just unacceptable behaviour. The way he and another older member of the staff speak to those below them and obviously younger is a further issue and something I have witnessed on multiple occasions. The cake is also now brought in but still labelled and priced as homemade. Truly a shame to see such an amazing space and what was once a great space to eat and relax go so far down into the dirt.

The museum is spread across 3 floors in the beautiful old theatre building. It has an extensive collection of local artefacts and covers hundreds of years of local history. It also has a very nice cafe which caters to Welsh and English speakers.

This is a ‘must do’ visit if you’re anywhere near Aberystwyth. It was a Victorian Theatre in its early life but now an excellent museum has been created. We spent Two hours looking around which was interesting and thought provoking. There is an excellent cafe serving morning coffee and lunch time snacks.

A truly worthwhile visit if in the area........
