Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to see the stunning Rheidol Valley. We pass through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery as the line twists and turns clinging to the hillside gradually climbing nearly 700ft (200m)from Aberystwyth to reach our destination at Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seensoaring high above the valley floor and breathtaking views can beenjoyed by all.

A great trip with very helpful station staff...starting in Aberystwyth an hours peaceful journey through the hills to Devils bridge, was a great way to spot the local wildlife and Red Kites. The train is dog friendly so our Springer Spaniel enjoyed the view too. A coffee shop and walks in Devils available at the last stop before the return... More

We loved the climb up to the Devils Bridge and the waterfalls. The views were great and the staff so friendly. Worth the visit and great places for hiking.

We chanced upon the railway as we entered Aber and decided on a trip to Devils Bridge. £42 return - which seemed a bit steep but it was a good trip. We paid a £3/person supplement for first class up which was comfy and warm. On the way up, first class is at the back so you see the uninterrupted... More

We visited Aberystwyth on Easter Monday to ride the Narrow Gauge Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devils Bridge. The cost for two adults was £47, we also brought our two King Charles Cavalier Spanials. They cost £3 each to ride the train, and they were not the only doggie passengers. Included in the price was a free booklet on the railway... More

Many thanks for your review. I am sorry to hear you found the fares too expensive, we've recently expanded the range of family ticket options available as these provide the best value for family groups. All revenue from fares gets re-invested into restoration and preservation of this Edwardian railway. We are a charity dedicated to keeping the railway and its... More

We visited this attraction and all though a little expensive £100 for four of us, it is a worth while trip. The scenery was spectacular. At some points we were right on the edge of the mountain as the train traveled around the mountain. There is something romantic about steam hauled trains and the views were to die for The... More

Thoroughly enjoyable few hours spent doing this trip. Can be cold and uncomfortable so worth wrapping up and bringing a blanket to sit on (or paying not much more to travel 1st). Even though it was raining the views are spectacular and coffee/cake in tearoom lovely.
