What a great place to visit - lovely views and ambience
Oct 2021
We called on a mid week late afternoon in early October. We were able to get street parking just up from the pier entrance although there is I believe also a pay car park just outside.

There is a kiosk where you make your 50p donations as there is no fixed fee. I have to say the gentleman volunteer there was incredibly helpful and informative. The Grade 2 listed pier which is the second longest in Wales and the 9th longest in the UK runs half across the river with Angelsey on the far side.

It was very breezy when we were there but great views of Angelsey on the far side and also of the Menai Bridge. Plenty of bird life around as well. There is a cafe at the far (Angelsey ) end

An absolute gem and undoubtedly the best of our three visits of the day. Well worth doing.

Bangor Pier

Stayed in carpark over night, spoke to people before hand.

Everyone so nice and friendly, all went above and beyond with suggestions of where to go next and what to see.

A safe space with a relaxed atmosphere.

The hounds loved it. Thank you.

Especially to the young man Ed who was working in the toilets, polite and courteous man.

Thank you all for making my stay so memorable.

Great evening stroll before sunset
Oct 2021
Bangor's Garth Pier is so long, that it goes over half way across the Menai Straights towards Anglesey.
Cheap to enter.
Great evening stroll before sunset. Cafe at the end with a few stalls for crafts.
Issue finding a free car parking place. The pier only has a couple of expensive spaces to use.
Hard to find as only limited signposts - but well worth the effort.

Lovely little pier. Some stunning views, certainly would recommend visiting if you get the chance. Best time to go would be on a sunny day, and make sure you bring your camera.

What you'd expect from a pier!

Visited on a cold day, but was pleased to find the cafe at the end of the pier!

Several shops along the pier - however most were closed. Probably due to being close season.

They ask for donations as you enter the pier. Some limited parking close by.

It sticks out half a mile

Love going to Bangor pier, nice little walk especially on a sunny day. Gives you the nostalgic feeling with the old architecture. When I visited last time the pier was having some restoration work done which it desperately needs in some areas.

Worth a Visit
Sep 2021 • Couples
We enjoyed a walk along the pier even in the pouring rain and received a warm welcome in the Pavilion cafe at the end along with great views. Great hot chocolate and latte and the staff were so friendly and helpful in suggesting attractions to go and visit in the area.

Really quite an unique experience

We went to the Pier after seeing it from a boat trip in the summer. The pier asks for a 50p donation to get on. There isn't much there, a couple of little shops and a cafe at the end but the location is fantastic. When we went the pier was very quite which I think added to the occasion. A bloke was playing a banjo half way down which really added to the occasion. The views are quite stunning. In front of the pier is the menai strait and behind the pier the view goes from Garth which is pretty up over the snowdonia mountains.

Lovely unusual pier
Sep 2021
What a pleasant surprise when we first saw the pier not a bit what we imagined it would be like. The view from the end of the pier across to Anglesey is stunning. There are also some lovely views looking across at the bridge. Most of the shops were shut when we went but I should think in summer it will be quite vibrant.

Give the cafe a miss!!!

The pier is interesting and great views across the Menai Straights. Stopped for a coffee at the cafe at the end of the pier. Never again, how can you wait 20 minutes after ordering for 2 cups of coffee, wasn’t even busy.
