Yes, Caernarfon is a ruined castle, but it has been well-restored. With 8 towers to climb and 3 museums within, and a wall walk that circles this castle along the sea, you’ll want to spend many (3+) hours visiting.

Caernarfon castle is impressive and very photogenic. It is worth climbing up to the walls, the view from the top is excellent.
