Stood where the Queen presented Prince Charles as Prince of Wales! Enormous castle in a fantastic setting. We went on a cold April day and had the place to ourselves. The museum of the Royal Welch Fusiliers is one of the best military museums I have visited - full of interesting information, presented in a lively manner. See Sassoon's Military... More

This is one of the most beautiful castles in Wales. The best thing about this castle is that you can actually go up into all of the towers and see the living quarters, etc. It's truly a magnificent castle with spectacular views all around. If you only have time to visit one castle in Wales, this should probably be the... More

Impressive enough from the outside alone! Worth spending a good few hours in this historical, enchanting and awe-inspiring fortress. So much to explore: high ramparts, massive towers, so many rooms and a military museum. Something for everyone!

Great visit. Not very busy. Stairs are narrow and spiral care is needed. Could be a problem with lots people about. Great history and great views

Quite a large castle to walk around with some towers to walk up. We went there when the poppies were being put out and were able to buy a cross to put in ourselves. The castle has plenty to see and is nice to walk around, Had a good day

Superb castle. Just gutted that our younger son was poorly so we had to cut short the visit after just one hour. A castle like this would normally have kept both boys occupied for the whole day! Even had archery demos for the children. Lots of alley-ways, steps and dead-ends, which the boys loved! Would have been useful to have... More

What an experience. Kids loved every minute of it. Climbing the towers, exploring the many passages and rooms with so many secrets to tell. Even the wife enjoyed it and she 'doesn't do castles'!! Loads of history. Nice museum all about the royal Welsh fusiliers as well.

Absolutely huge castle, also very high, very impressive some areas a little dark so may startle children. Interesting regimental museum. The climb to the top is breathtaking in more ways than one. My only minor disappointment was dogs weren't allowed so had to alternate visits but all in all fantastic castle

This place is amazing, where one can breath centuries of history by visiting it. It is a good sample of the ancient castles of the region
