If you want to see a proper Castle with presence check this one out. Its large and very high, you can climb to the top of many turrets and check the veiws, being high just don't look over the edge if hights are a problem. There is plenty to see and explore it has been partly restored in the chambers... More

We have just spent the week in the area and this was a must visit, The castle is prominent on the Menai straits and the view from the top is amazing, as were the snow covered mountains in the distance!! The castle has lots and lots of very steep stairs that some people may find challenging, there is a "lift"... More

We were fortunate enough to visit the castle while the Weeping Poppies display was showing. Very moving as we were there during Remembrance week. The Castle is of course magnificent and it was a privilege to see it.

Interesting enough, if one likes castles but, for me, it was just Another Bloody Castle! The location is nice, however, with good harbor views.

Wet and windy day but the castle has lots to see undercover. Plenty of spiral staircases. Stunning views from the top of the towers. the Eagle Tower especially. Royal Welsh Fusilers Museum part of the castle. Apparently best view is from the water (boat trip), but we didn't do this.

Great castle to spend several hours in - it is so big I even got lost at one point so plan to spend more time here than many other castles. This was probably my favorite of the 6 castles I visited and the poppy display was incredible. Go early to avoid the crowds. I recommend a visit with the CADW... More
