After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a...more

This is an excellent castle to visit. There is plenty of information in the towers about the castle in various displays so be prepared to do a lot of climbing up spiral staircases!

Yes, Caernarfon is a ruined castle, but it has been well-restored. With 8 towers to climb and 3 museums within, and a wall walk that circles this castle along the sea, you’ll want to spend many (3+) hours visiting.

I went to Caernafon Castle on what was a dry day in the East of England, but which was a total washout in North Wales with relentless rain! The splendor of the castle was not diminished!

This castle was interesting to view. Navigating up and down was a challenge but just required care. The video presentations were interesting and well done. After watching the video of Prince Charles it was quite easy to picture the exact scene. Able to make some...More

Caernarfon castle is impressive and very photogenic. It is worth climbing up to the walls, the view from the top is excellent. I recommend crossing the river to get a great landscape view of the castle.

Brilliant castle to look around. Need to like steps and heights though. Basically you weave up and down the towers and along the perimeter of the castle. Im not one for heights and found some parts a bit much along with steep winding steps. There...More

Interesting English statement to the Welsh population for sure way back, large impressive castle with many steps so take care. Ideal for an hour or so while in the town.

It definitely was worth the trip, we really enjoyed our time there and made the most of it even in the wind and rain! Dogs are understandably not allowed in the castle, it just wouldn't be safe with all the narrow steps and winding stairs!...More

Visited on a really windy day and were told not to walk on the battlements. Pah! It was fine up there and we weren't going to miss out on the splendid views. Initially we thought that we wouldn't be staying for very long but there...More

Sadly we visited as Storm Ali hit so not the best of weather but loved the Welsh Fusilier exhibit. Well worth a few hours to wander over

As far as I’m aware, it’s only assistance dogs that are allowed on the castle, but best to phone and check.
