Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon's Centre for the Arts opened in April 1997, as the first wholly funded Lottery new build arts organisation in the UK. The Arts Centre is probably situated in one of the most picturesque locations of any venue in the UK. Built alongside the canal basin in the heart of Brecon, serving the town and surrounding areas of Powys, Monmouthshire and beyond, it is rooted firmly in the community it serves. The venue currently provides a varied programme of theatre, dance, music and entertainment in its purpose built 477 seat auditorium and 120-seat studio/rehearsal space. It also hosts an exhibition programme in the Gallery.

A wonderful evening of Banff Films, which if you have not seen before- catch them the next time around. Even my eight four plus year old Mum enjoys them. Since the last time we came (March 2016): • they charge £1 for the car park which is paid to the theatre • they have apparently closed the food down (crisps... More

We went to listen to Ash Dykes and he was brilliant, such an inspiration. We thoroughly enjoyed his talk it was so interesting, funny and motivational. Well worth going to. The theatre is a good venue although there isn't much leg room in the stalls. However the chairs are comfortable and the acoustics were good. You need to make sure... More

Beautiful shows being presented at this beautiful little gem, saw that they are requesting funding which the council should be founding given that is just a piece of artistic creation in a really rural town with nothing like that going on around town, the scenery outside is just stunning and the theatre itself very organised keep on the good work

I'm afraid I was not happy with my visit to Brecon theatre. I took my grandmother to a Jane Austen lecture. She went in to confirm her online order and receive her tickets. When I joined her I found that she was waiting in a queue as the only person on the desk was on the phone, he did not... More

Hi Charlotte, I am very sorry to hear that your visit to us wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been. We are working to ensure there are a couple of people on Box Office when there are shows/ events taking place to help with the smooth collection of tickets and a shorter waiting time. Unfortunately the event you attended... More

Can eat here before the theatre or otherwise, although limited opening times. Based on a tapas/small plates to share idea, but plenty of food on the plates and VERY tasty, a really nice change. The theatre itself is a gem, with great access and view points wherever you are seated.

The theater does lovely food and you can eat it inside or out. There is a lovely walk along the canal and you can watch some great shows.

One of the best views for a meal in Beacon, with an outdoor terrace for nice weather. Inside the theatre building.

Lovely meal at Tipple and Tiffin within the theatre, followed by an evening of fun and awesome Eagles music by the live Tallon band. Entertaining evening in an airy spacious theatre. Always a good night here with a varied programme.

Came here to a concert recently and have to say it is a lovely place. Centrally situated, with lots of parking nearby. There is a small bar / coffee shop on site. Staff at the theatre very very helpful and friendly. An absolute little gem
