Looking old and tired

This is a beautiful fountain/water feature but unfortunately has been neglected. Come on city council and bring it back to its former glory!!

It's easy to miss this 'attraction' on the way to the big movie theater around the corner or to one of the many restaurants located in the area. The Victorian fountain has a symbolic message that you can drink here and keep both healthy and clean - something which unfortunately is difficult today because it does not seem to work... More

The inscription on the fountain reads, "Whosoever drinketh the water that I shall give him...shall never thirst again". Sadly there is no water to drink. I am the person who made a mistake and said that this fountain was only about thirty years old. As I really like this fountain I photograph it once every year but I had forgotten... More

Often in town and see this monument. Never really paid it attention til today. It's a well sculpted statue and acts as a great landmark.

When I saw this fountain, I thought it was very old, but then I found that he has only about 30 years. An special arhitecture, sorrounded by modern buildings.

Such a thing, a monument to an amazing hero in a time from hell (see review below). Once it was another Victorian monument in a city filled with fancy facades. Now it is alone, out-of-place among the boring glass and brick towers of the 20th century. But the glorious purple-red brickwork sings against the vividly green flora growing all over... More

It seems like a bad joke. An inscription reads “Whosoever drinketh the water that I shall give him…shall never thirst again”. Well, those waters are turned off, so tough luck. The font is full of trash dropped by passers-by who didn't give a fig. This object is lost on a traffic island, and all that everyone wants to do is... More

This little memorial fountain is very unassuming & seems to blend into its surroundings rather than standing out. It has a “blink & you'll miss it” feeling about it. It stands on a pedestrian island across from BBC Buildings & Nandos & serves as a fork in the road: if travelling from Ormeau Avenue – turn left at the island... More

When I first saw this memorial fountain I thought that it was very old so I was surprised when I discovered that it was erected in 1985.Considering its age it is in very poor condition and it will not last long if it does not receive regular maintenance. See it while you can.

Thomas Thompson was a naval surgeon, who was appalled by the conditions in Belfast during the famine. Refuges from around the country arrived in Belfast with typhus, smallpox, cholera and dysentery, and through his charity, he provided comfort for the sick. The inscription on the fountain reads, "Whoever drinketh the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst again"... More
