If travelling on Stena Belfast - Cairnryan service as a foot passenger make sure you wear comfortable shoes, the walk to get onto the ship is serious especially at the Belfast terminal, from they moved the terminal out of Belfast itself you find you have...More

Highly recommended way of travelling to Belfast from Scotland. We travelled in the Barista café which was very quiet and afforded spectacular views through the huge windows. Food was reasonable priced and there appeared to be lots to keep kids involved with a game zone...More

I have used this ship several times and each time has been an enjoyable experience. When the boat is moving you hardly know you are in the middle of the sea. The journey is fast, comfortable and clean. There is free computers to use and...More

A great ferry crossing to N. Ireland. I recommend the Stena Plus option to add to the experience. The Stena Plus lounge ensures that you will get comfortable seat with included tea/coffee and other drinks with a range of snacks. Newspapers and magazines are available....More

Took the ferry over to Belfast. For only 15 euro per person, the Plus lounge is totally worth every penny. Lots of nice seating, great snacks and drinks, plenty or reading material.

Usual kind of boat. Clean, efficient, food way overpriced. Food is ok, just too expensive. main thing to not is there is a reason the competition advertises "Wi-fi that works". It's because Stena's wi-fi rarely does. Or is too slow to use. And that is...More

This was our first crossing to Belfast from Cairnryan using the ferry and would say it was decent for the price paid. The ferry itself was fairly comfortable and the crossing in both directions very smooth. The staff are helpful but the food is a...More

We travelled by ferry and didn't need any id when I flew you just need photo Id so a drivers license is enough! We didn't need anything either time for my toddler who didn't have a passport!

I'm thinking of doing this from next year and was wondering 2 things, #1 is where do you get the bus link to Cairnryan with your Rail & Sail ticket? & #2 what does a Rail & Sail ticket look like? Thanks in advance

We also went by car but noticed several buses arriving in time for the ferry. Try googling your town to Cairnryan and see what you get. There's also a train station in Stranraer which may also provide a bus to the ferry.
