It took us ages, and a bit of following other people! to get to the center. Great fun, would definitely... More

I asked a friend a place to go for my morning run in castlewellan and he suggested I should go to the "park" so I followed his suggestion and entered the gate which introduced me to a place of outstanding beauty, a lake and a castle, a variety of paths both flat and uphill, a maze and a botanic garden...... Castlewellan Forest Park has a beautiful lake that makes for a lovely walk or run around, for me it is the perfect distance, not too far or too short. It also includes one of the world's largest permanent hedge mazes. the peace maze, it is very enjoyable to go in and get lost and try to find your way to... More

Had a beautiful walk around here recently the weather was bright and dry! Parked the car free by the way no one on the gate ! Walked around the lake and had a wee nosey around the castle. There are also longer walks around the forest if desired. Finally got lost in the maze great crack! Day finished off in... More

Visited the park today and spent a very pleasant couple of hours walking round the entire lake and then tea in the cafe. The entrance fee of £5 per car is fine and the park is quite beautiful. The lake walk is easy and takes about an hour to complete. Other more challenging walks are available. Cafeteria had a log... More

Myself and my son are just back from a visit to Castlewellan forest park. The weather was lovely. We walked up to the castle and round the lake. It is such a nice place with trails and lovely views. Would recommend to anyone who likes walking

Parked in Castlewellan and walked in to park. Did the walk around the lake and then in to town for lunch. A great day out.

Went on a Sunday afternoon after a beautiful.lunch in Maginns. Its £5.00 to park the car but worth it. We walked around the lake for an hour very relaxing. We did not go to maze as we had been before. Really enjoyed the walk and scanery. Worth a visit for all ages.
