Castlewellan Forest Park is a blessing, and I say that confidently. Both those from Northern Ireland and those from all around the world will be left in awe of the beauty of the scenery you will find here. The walk around the lake is breath-taking, the maze is a nightmare to get through (in a good challenging way) and you... More

What a fabulous place....brisk walk around the lake and then a peaceful walk around the Annesley heritage garden with amazing trees! Then we climb up to the amazing moorish tower with fab views towards Dundrum. What a gem of a place.

It took us ages, and a bit of following other people! to get to the center. Great fun, would definitely... More

I asked a friend a place to go for my morning run in castlewellan and he suggested I should go to the "park" so I followed his suggestion and entered the gate which introduced me to a place of outstanding beauty, a lake and a castle, a variety of paths both flat and uphill, a maze and a botanic garden...... It also includes one of the world's largest permanent hedge mazes. the peace maze, it is very enjoyable to go in and get lost and try to find your way to... More

Visited the park today and spent a very pleasant couple of hours walking round the entire lake and then tea in the cafe. The entrance fee of £5 per car is fine and the park is quite beautiful. The lake walk is easy and takes about an hour to complete. Other more challenging walks are available. Cafeteria had a log... More
