Had a great visit to the Saint Patrick Centre, which is in the middle of Downpatrick. They have a top-notch exhibit on Saint Patrick, a great restaurant / cafe, and a gift shop where I stocked up on souvenirs for friends. The staff are all friendly. Dr. Campbell, the director of the centre, gave me a personal introduction to the... More

Wonderful presentation in motion picture format: on Patrick as a man and his influence on Ireland. Although I had read about St. Patrick I had no idea of the number of geographical connections that can be pinpointed. Altogether a great visit and the gift shop is a treasure. [The staff are pleasant and the merchandise has broad appeal. You may... More

If you are a history and you love Ireland, you know St Patrick is a intricate of it. This center is to explain the myths, legend, and facts about St Patrick. Well worth it, most likely not for everyone.

The story of St. patrick is an interesting one and is well told here. The director of the Museum personally introduced the well done video, and the rest of the exhibits were well done. A really nice coffee shop and store completed the facility. It is well worth a visit.

as part of the tour we were on, the center was available to us along with the presentation of the history of the area and St. Patrick. The gentleman giving the talk was very knowledgeable and entertaining.

This was an unexpectedly good new centre right in the heart of Downpatrick. It does an excellent job of explaining the historical Patrick as we know him through his letters. Saint Patrick was a remarkable man with many associations in the surrounding area. (The centre also covers some of the legends that have grown up around Saint Patrick). The centre... More

We were here on a mini pilgrimage - from Saul to Downpatrick Cathedral. This is a most impressive venue. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the self-guided tour through the building is excellent, with top quality AV throughout. We had lunch in the upstairs cafe - or rather in the beautiful gardens outside. The soup was very... More

We went to information Center first thing when we arrived in Downpatrick. The staff were extremely helpful in giving information and resources to help us. They also pointed us in the right direction to find what we were looking for. Go there first to make your time there better.

Visited coffee shop here on a recent trip to Downpatrick. Lovely location upstairs (but wheelchair accessible) looking out onto a beautiful garden through which you can climb up to the Cathedral - also well worth a visit. We had lovely coffee and delicious home made scones.
