Blairs Museum gives a unique insight into Scotland's Catholic history and heritage with spectacular collections spanning more than 500 years - paintings (including the memorial portrait of Mary, Queen of Scots), church textiles, sacred silver and Jacobite memorabilia and also tells the story of Blairs College, the former National Junior Seminary. Blairs Museum is housed in its former sacristy. You can absorb the peace and tranquility of St Mary's Church as part of your visit.

I didn't know much about the museum before visiting. I happened to see the sign for the museum next to where we were staying and decided to visit. It was really well worth the effort. Situated at the top of a long winding drive, Blairs Museum is the museum of Scotland's Catholic heritage. If you're not of the Catholic faith, you may think this museum is not for you, but I would suggest it's worth a try. Had the most amazing afternoon. Ian who did our tour was fantastic & really made everything come to life. We visited Blairs on a Sunday afternoon, it's open 2 till 5pm, and were extremely impressed with the church, the museum and the staff. Spent a lovely afternoon here in the museum in the beautiful grounds of Blairs College. Lovely welcome from the lady at the entrance plus a very informative tour with manager Ian Forbes. This is a must see and the added bonus is if you get Ian Forbes to take you through all the exhibits :-) His knowledge and passion for the museum and it's heritage is infectious. He is a credit to the museum....Thanks Ian. Gerry & Anne

We came to the museum on one rainy Sunday afternoon. It's well hidden behind the trees. You can only see the church spear and tower of the old Seminary from the main road.
