A most interesting little museum.
Oct 2021
I spent a most pleasant time looking around this interesting little museum and chatting to the two chaps running it. It depicts the role of Oban in both world wars and I was particularly impressed with some of the paintings on display and also learning about the flying boats which were employed in the area. Among the exhibits I was delighted to find a naval cap ribbon from the base my grand-uncle flew from in the Fleet Air Arm during the war!

So informative and interesting. Learnt a great deal about Oban and it's connection to the armed services. No charge but donations gratefully received. So much to read and absorb. Well worth taking the time to visit.

Good place for educating children. Lovely people well worth a short visit. Have a look. My son loved looking at all the different artifacts. It’s free and they only look for a small donation.

Wonderful place
Sep 2021
We popped in just to ask for leaflets for our grandson on Saturday 4th Sept at approx 15.30 but left with so much verbal knowledge, photos and a few things for our grandson to research. The two guys, sorry I cannot remember your names, on duty were so knowledgeable, patient and funny. They had the most amazing stories to tell we could have listened to them all day. They even managed to tell my husband what regiment his grandad was in and what weapon he was carrying all from a very old photo on his phone.

I hope the boys read this review as I want them to know our grandson was so excited about the photos and has said he will start researching. Sorry we kept you late closing up.

A little gem tucked away in the heart of Oban.

This is a brilliant little Museum tucked away in Oban. My wife and I along with our two kids visited here while having a day out in Oban. When we arrived we were greeted by two lovely gentlemen and asked to sign in and sanitise.
My son is autistic and is a right history buff and loves learning about anything to do with the wars over the years and the different things that happened in the places we visit. The place tells you everything you need to know about the war effort Oban saw and also has some amazing exhibits on show.
The two gentlemen that were working interacted with my son and spoke about all the different items that were displayed as well as other parts of history teaching my son some things he didn’t know. All in all we were in there for about 2 hours and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Just want to say a massive thank you to the 2 gentleman that work there. You made my sons days.
