Robert Burns House is well worth a visit and is just across the road from his Mausoleum, so it's easy to visit both. A step back in time, and a nice insight into the life of one of our favourite poets... Lovely to see how he lived and the information on show is great... Really lovely that this is free to see too...

We visited this tiny museum and was very impressed with the artefacts and attention to detail. There was no entry fee however there is a donation box which we did support because on a cold winters day the little house was heated which made the visit all the more enjoyable. In my opinion it is not suitable for young children... More

A lovely little museum - and free! There are original manuscripts and household effects that were owned by the Burns family. Well worth a visit.

Very cute house with a lot of memorabilia of Robert Burns. There is a lot to see and one can get to know Burns and his work better. A good feeling for poetry fans.

A small house, well stocked with Burns's items and furniture. A good glimpse of life in Burns's time, and some interesting objects. Could have more in the way of interpretative material.

Since our visit to Dumfries was on a Sunday in December, the house and museum were closed, but we enjoyed the walk around and visiting the garden across the street with plaques bearing some of Robert Burns's poetry and rosebushes still in bloom!
