Decided to visit after receiving a recommendation, took 1hour to climb up the steps and this was worthwhile as Loch at top is beautiful as is the views from here and also stopping places on climb.

Rather difficult to access with Mobility problems and more enjoyable on a better day with no Rain, but worth the effort.

Wasn't sure about attempting this climb as the weather was not good... It was raining... And I was concerned about the steps being slippery, but we did and it was worth the effort.

I climbed up the stone staircase with my family and 2 dogs. It is a long, hard slog up the steps, and my two large dogs found some of it tricky, but the views of the waterfall are breathtaking. Make the effort to keep walking...More

Not only did we get a walk up both sides of the waterfall we saw plenty of wildlife. We saw a pair of peregrine falcons as well as plenty of other birds. Plenty of wild goats and sheep. Great views up and down the waterfall...More

We got engaged here 26 years ago and have often talked of coming back. Beautiful and unspoiled .. Does you good to just breath in that air. Perfect .....but I'm biased of course.

No, they will be fine. if its muddy just make sure you hold their hand. Its a climb but gradual.

Hi, if drive into Moffat from the a74 and look for signs for the a708 grey mare's tail will be sign posted. Hope this is helpful :)
