Edinburgh Zoo is set in 82 acres of sloping parkland and is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre. It is home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, including chimpanzees, sun bears, Indian Rhinos, the UK's only koalas and the first Giant Pandas in the UK for 17 years. You can experience a busy programme of educational events and activities from keeper talks to hands-on animal encounters. There is also a wide-range of eating experiences, several play areas and a fantastic gift shop.Viewing for the Giant Pandas is free but ticketed.(Included with entry fee) To avoid disappointment we are advising all visitors to pre-book their tickets through our website to guarantee viewing. Panda viewing tickets must be booked at the same time as you buy your entry ticket.

We booked a weekend in Edinburgh 6 months ago, for my daughters 9th birthday to see the koala's at the zoo. We live 400 miles away, so flights, hotel etc were booked. I went to book the zoo tickets 2 weeks before our trip & read that the koala enclosure was closed. I emailed the zoo to see if there... More

I used to go to Edinburgh Zoo a lot when I was a child and always loved it. The zoo has changed quite a lot in the last forty years I think, but I guess it has had to as the concept of keeping animals in captivity is increasingly criticised. That said, Edinburgh Zoo has always tried to provide a... More

we went for a trip to the zoo on our honeymoon and loved it. Friendly and informative staff. Excellent place to be even in the snow. Magical place. Would definitely recommend.

Great place for a day trip. But it is a zoo, albeit a very good one. They do their best to give the animals space and are engaged in conservation. One small tip: don't que at the ice cream stand when just a few metres away the cafe will also sell the same ice cream without the que! Prepare for... More

Excellent day out for both families and couples. Came to Edinburgh on a weekend away with my partner and it was on our last day. Some penguins came out to walk outside the enclosure. Some beautiful animals. Shame we didn't get to see the pandas

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I am very glad that you enjoyed Penguins Rock which is the largest Penguin Pool in Europe and saw many of our collection around the park. Hopefully if you visit again soon you would be able to experience the Pandas. More

Wow, what a fantastic place, we booked in to see the Pandas 🐼 and it was amazing, we saw both the male and female plus not many people booked on our time slot. The zoo was brilliant and would definitely recommend if your in Edinburgh, please note take your own drinks as the cafe is VERY VERY expensive.

Thank you very much for sharing your recent experience with us. I am very glad that you enjoyed seeing Yang Guang and Tian Tian. We do limit numbers for each Panda viewing as the animals are very sensitive to noise and this ensures that you obtain the best view possible. I will be sure to pass on your comments regarding... We visited as part of our Honeymoon and we were staying next door as part of a panda experience package. We got to visit the zoo and have a viewing of the pandas something we've both always wanted to do! The zoo was quiet which we loved and also meant that we could visit the pandas twice :) The zoo... We do try and accommodate people to have multiple viewings of the Pandas if there are spaces available and I'm glad that there was space for you to take advantage of that. In the world zoos while not to all tastes do protect animals from the most dangerous predator in the world Man. Hilly yet well located the venue offers a day out that is worth the effort to get to see animals that are from other lands and ONLY VISITING Lots to do eat see.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Here at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland we are very proud of the conservation work that we undertake. The Majority of our animals are here because they are part of special breeding programmes designed to conserve species that are threatened or vulnerable in the wild. We... More

After visiting the zoo last week I would just like to say how disappointed we where. I don't understand how you can still charge the full price for the tickets when we saw hardly any animals! I understand it's winter and the animals obviously like to stay warm and shelter but how can the price of tickets still be the... More

Thank you for taking the time to share to your experience with us, I am very sorry that you didn't enjoy your recent visit. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We have great transport links to the centre of Edinburgh with Lothian Buses services 12, 26, 31 & 100 all stopping directly outside the Zoo. We are lucky to have Penguins Rock, the largest Penguin Pool in Europe and they are great fun to stop and watch. I... More
