Paid a visit to this lovely old fashioned cinema (over a hundred years old) on a weekend trip to Edinburgh. Old school posters and film/film stars posters dotted around as you enter. Felt like I'd stepped back in time. Nice bar where drink can be...More

Went to see Three Billboards here on a visit to the city. Comfy seats, in a nice old fashioned art house style theatre. Not too many noisy popcorn or crisp crunchers in the audience which is always a bonus. It is a bit on the...More

When it comes to cinemas Edinburgh’s got plenty to choose from. There’s the likes of Vue and Cineworld offering all your multiplex needs and then there’s smaller ones like the Dominion and the Filmhouse. The Cameo fits into the second category. It’s a small cinema...More

Very laid back from the staff, the music and the decor. Nice for a coffee or a drink even if you are just passing by. Good for people watching too from sad singles like me to folk with way too much product in their hair...More

A step back in time from a standardised visit to the cinema. Individual and a pleasant night out, with a bar and cafe. Seating very nice and comfortable. A bit pricey though.

The Cameo is a cozy place with a bar that shows top art and independent cinema. There are two auditoriums, one good, one awful unless you get the few good middle seats. So if you are buying tickets for the #2, you might end up...More

What a delightful treasure. Cinema as it should be - red plush seats, the backs shifting for comfort. Staff are helpful - I really enjoyed my chat about films and cinematography with the gentleman who provided me with my ticket. Great selection of films.

I like the cameo. Small cinema, comfy seats, good selection of films, but half the bar staff need sacking. Lolling about looking at their phones, getting you to wipe and clean up your own table, slow as death and generally uninterested. I would be sacking...More

I found this place reading up on things to see in Edinburgh (said to be a favorite of Tarantino's when he's in town) and it was lovely! Has a cafe/bar attached that you can wait around til the screening, comfortable seats in the theater. Great...More

Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
