Set in a former bank, this is another typical example of JD Wetherspoon preserving an old building with character. The pub is very clean and the staff friendly, Food and drink prices are typical Wetherspoons and there is a good range of Ales Well worth...More

Very good variety of beers and craft ales. Staff very helpful with samples of beer available before you buy. Steak meal was very good value and also very well presented. Well worth a visit and the staff are very pleasant.

We arrived when it was quite busy but still managed to find seats. This branch of Wetherspoons has long been one of my favourites. Only downside was one of the pints wasn't too clever.

We were going to a show in the Assembly Rooms next door, so were just looking for quick, cheap, and cheerful, which was exactly what we got. Food arrived quickly, and was fine for what we paid. Himself's fish and chips were hot and tasty,...More

We always like weatherspoons as being consistent, family friendly, fairly priced and good for coeliacs - not this one though. What a disappointment!!! Although wetherspoons have a good range of gluten free / low calorie options on a separate menu, hardly any of these were...More

We visited this pub a number of times and it never let us down. It's huge but there are some quiet areas and the atmosphere is fabulously lively. Excellent beer-Edinburgh Gold-at excellent prices; well worth a visit. The building is a belter.

An excellent British pub! Though, if there are too many customers, the food may be prepared in a hurry.

We just came in to admire the building and have a quick drink. The girl who served me was new and not at all familiar with the drinks on their menu so it took an age to get our drinks. We weren't tempted to stay...More

New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district
with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest
clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street
helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned
Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric
