The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is an amazing building that houses the world’s largest permanent display of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Glasgow Style. It also has works by many other art masters, ancient Egyptian artefacts, dinosaurs, Sir Roger the Elephant and a Spitfire! The only disappointment was that museum staff didn’t seem to know much about things in... More

This place is amazing, famous for its art and a wide collection of artifacts ranging from prehistoric to ancient egyptian plus many more, you cannot visit glasgow without paying a visit to the famous art gallaries as its locally known...there is a popular misconception that the architect built the building the wrong way round.😄😄

Travelled over by the Subway from central Glasgow, the museum is about 10 minutes walk away. Good exhibits, natural history, ancient Egypt and the famous Salvador Dali depiction of Christ of the Cross of St John

My daughter and I visited the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in August of this year and it is one of the best Art Gallery and Museum's that I've seen, add to that it is free entry. One could spend a whole day browsing and be enthralled and entertained by all of the wonderful art and exhibits. I would definitely... More

Glasgow is one of the biggest cities in the UK. Therefore, the collection being overly many times smaller than in other European major cities makes me sad. For instance, comapred to London Museum. Of course place must see. However, please someone invest more in this place. It has more potentials.

Just seeing Dali's "Christ of St John of the Cross" was worth the visit alone. But you cannot stop there! The overall collection of art is extensive and among the best and in a building that is a study in architecture in and of itself. Well worth a visit or two!
