Had a couple of drinks here, drinks were reasonably priced, great selection of beer, well kept and a great atmosphere, very busy but the staff were brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a city centre real ale pub - 7 or 8 ales always on - with a circular central bar. Prices are excellent, especially considering the location. Nancy runs a fantastic pub which is friendly to locals and visitors. Also serves food at lunchtime but can get busy with local workers. Get in before 12 !! There's too few... More

A beautiful piece of Glasgow history with features showing the cross-over period from Art Nouveau to Art Deco. It is unpretentious but clean and well-maintained. The bar is just gorgeous and stocks a great range of real ales, contemporary beers, malt whiskies. Fantastic bar with great staff. Always a great mix of people and shows sport if you're wanting to watch. Has a good selection of whisky and cask ales too.

Booked tickets online for comedy club easily enough, before it started we went to the main bar was soo busy which is to be expected on a saturday night, its what i would call a traditional "old mans" pub but its not a bad thing theres enough posery pubs in glasgow. Eventually got a table but it had drink spilt... More

I have frequented the State on a number of occasions over the years and it is still a great place to meet friends for a catch up Great service and a selection of beers and spirits Not for poseurs but for those who just want a pint and a chat

I went to this pub for a drink and I witnessed the worst form of religious discrimination. I couldn't believe my ears when gentlemen and women who were dressed smartly on their way to church were asked to leave the pub because they may offend "the other side"? went in to meet some friends before heading out. sticky floors, filthy tables. not for me and doubt i'd be returning
