Despite living close by, we'd never been inside Oran Mor so didn't know the entrance to the brasserie is on Great Western Road. We had booked for the pre theatre and had the place to ourselves most of the time. The waiting staff are all very pleasant and attentive. The food was lovely with a good choice for each course.... This is a converted church that caters for drinkers on the ground floor and music lovers on the upper floor. With a great range of beers and spirits on offer combined with a decent menu and a friendly crowd, one will be back here for sure.

We attended a gig (band called Tinariwen) there on 26 April. We had food in the bar beforehand, which was delicious - simple but really good cooking. The bar staff were very warm and friendly, as were the locals we got chatting to. The event venue was great too (again, met some lovely Glaswegians there). The building is stunning, inside... More

I recently visited the Oran mor for the play pie and pint. The play was amazing and cool venue and atmosphere. Pie however ( vegetarian option I had was a quiche ) was poor. It was a slither of quiche. Not enough to fill a newborn baby. Other wise cool venue. Bit dark inside but gives it character.

Great for drinking and meeting friends. Lots of space. music during evenings but not Scottish. We had nachos, they were good. Visited the theatre underground and watched a play, well attended. Value for money.

It was extremely late when we visited Oran Mor. We’d cycled from Edinburgh via Fife and finished in Glasgow some 78 miles later. So, after a good meal in the Merchant Quarter we got taxis out to the fashionable west end. Southern Softies think of Scotland as waste land and tenement housing. I can state having been to Scotland over... More

Was here early evening, first thing to hit you is the strong smell of urine emanating from the gents which you must pass entering. I was addressed by bar staff as 'ma love' On ordering gin, it was the poorest gin I have ever paid for, plain glass, 2 ice cubes, lemon. I was not asked which gin or tonic... More

Hadn't been here for a few years but popped in yesterday for a pre dinner drink. It is convenient for Byres Rd, Great Western Road and also Queen Margaret Drive. Nice atmosphere and the service was excellent. A huge bar area where you can also have a meal. We had a look at the food menu, and thought it was... More
