West end visit to Glasgow

Lots of choices of venues and food places...on the open top bus route. Ashton Lane has a great vibe. Couldn't find live Scottish music in the bars Very friendly locals.

Love Glasgow's West End area of watering holes, eating places & quirky shops. Would recommend to anyone..! Ashton Lane on a nice, summer evening is especially pleasant for standing outside with a cool drink just soaking up the atmosphere and banter :-)

The West end of Glasgow is one of my favourite places to visit. There is always a great atmosphere in the area with lots of quaint and quirky cafes, bistros, bars and restaurants serving a variety of different cuisines from around the world. You feel such an amazing buzz in the air, in such a lovely, sociable environment.

Glasgow is a gem to be savored; for it's people, architecture, history, and diversity. Scotland has a treasure of polar opposites with respect to it's geology and what better way to display this diversity than in the structures and architecture adorning this metro area. We walked the city, from east to west and back again and in awe of the... More

Being a west end boy I have only good things to say. Have a nosey around the uni or hit Ashton Lane for a few drinks. When the sun shines Glasgow's west end is where I want to be

Some parts nice with lots of little shops, too many coffee shops though. Busy streets and lots traffic. As a student area most dwellings are rented out, which is why a lot of the buildings and flat windows are a nit 'tired' looking. Several bars which are busy in the evening. The Botanic Gardens is a pleasant walk around, jog... More

Have always loved the West End of Glasgow. Nothing better than on a lovely sunny week-end morning to go into one of the many small cafes/restaurants for breakfast, or even later on for lunch. To sit outside and people watch as there are so many querky sites to see, and so many people to get to know. The West End... More

The area is packed with things to visit. You have the botanic gardens an many restaurants and pubs. Wander up and down Byers Road for some different types of shops. Accessible by the subway, buses and taxis. Can be cycled to from the city centre. Hotels available including the Hilton on the corner of Byers Road and opposite the gardens.... More
