Gentle refuge from the hustle and bustle of Glasgow centre. Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants to explore. It's a thriving residential area with many wonderful buildings. The Botanic Gardens and University are situated in the West End – plus some marvellous museums. Really it’s...More

I've lived in the West End for 2 years now, and I can say it's the best part of Glasgow (I know, I am a bit biased ;P). There are lots of nice places to walk, it's very green, lots of restaurant choices, a few...More

The West End is the place to visit when in Glasgow - lots of bars, restaurants and shops - it's near the university and has lots of good links to the city centre although that's not a long walk

We had a great leisurely Sunday morning walk around the West End and Kelvingrove Park area of Glasgow. It's about a 20-25 minute walk from the city centre. Try to take the route through Park Place Circus before heading to Kelvingrove Park. We then headed...More

I have often frequented the West End of Glasgow. You can't go wrong visiting this area. Great pubs, restaurants and you'll get a true sense of the locals.

Very nice neighbourhood with the botanical gardens, perfect for the good weather. Also don’t miss Oran Mor, specially a Play, a Pint and a Pie, a very Glaswegian experience!

An upmarket area to visit. Be it museums, restaurants or a good night out - this is the place. Very cosmopolitan with a really good feel about it. Enjoyed by students and fairly trendy.

Ashton lane has some decent pubs but overall i'd stick to Buchanan area for a night on the piss. West End of more of a place for hipsters.

I'd definitely recommend getting the underground to the botanical gardens as parking can be tricky. Some side streets do have parking available, but the availability can be a bit hit or a miss!

The Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road is probably your best bet.
