Lively place in the middle of Glasgow. Surrounded by some stunning architecture including the City Chambers. Often events are staged in the square.

In my opinion it lacks atmosphere for tourists. It has a famous restaurant, bit that looks like a food factory for me, way to big. Best part is the access from the square to the main shopping street

George Square shows off the architecture of the rise of Scottish wealth. Take a walk around it and enjoy the buildings.

We were staying near this square and walked to it frequently. Lots to see and places to sit on a nice day. Bars restaurants cafe etc, city chambers and the hop on hop off bus goes from there which gives you info on the statues.

A Glaswegian said to me you can tell the tourists by the fact they are the ones looking up at the amazing architecture and the locals just carry on by.

Busy, sometimes frantic, but lovely city center public square. It seems as in a few hours, everyone in Glasgow passes by as they scurry from one place to another. Surprisingly clean and a good place to catch the Hop On/Off Bus Tour for Glasgow!
