Stayed in Aviemore, had looked in advance for things to do and thought we would try and see some snow. Well worth the trip the kids loved the ‘train’ and they were even playing Christmas music. There was snow when we got up so the...More

This is a fun thing to do, not for the faint hearted! The funicular railway affords splendid views. it was November so very cold at the top. This is a good service and enables people to get to the top of Cairngorm easily. The café...More

The funicular railway is such great way to get to the ptarmigan restaurant, views can be amazing when the weather is clear. Even on a cold and windy day it's somewhere you should visit if your in the area, mainly to appreciate how wild the...More

Very disappointed with this. I have been on mountains all over Europe, and it never happened to me that on the top station you were not allowed to exit and go on the mountain. We were with small kids so going on foot was not...More

Kids loved the whole experience of the train and the staff were great with them too. We used a Groupon deal meaning it worked out fairly well for us but the full price would potentially be a bit steep (no pun intended). The cafe at...More

We took friends from New Zealand up on the funicular railway to see the view from the top. Visited the ptarmigan restaurant - such a disappointment. If only someone with experience in the hospitality trade would take on this cafe, and train the staff, starting...More

Just breath taking, it is wonderful, and has a good tearoom with FAB views A trip on the cable car is a great trip to the top of the mountain and café at the top, great for photos.

We went up on the November five pound special. The train is great and actually speedy. The views on the way up and down are spectacular. We had a good lunch on top too. Totally worth the visit for the views

The ride up on the railway is great and gets you to the summit quickly. Inside there is an exhibition about the centre and how skiing and mountaineering developed in Scotland, if your interested in that kind of thing it is well worth a look....More

The funicular train was much speedier than I thought, the people on the car were signing Christmas songs so it was so festive. The top was freezing, foggy, windy and made me want to go skiing. Nice cafe and gift shop!

Can't go up unless guide dogs but if you hike up to the top from the bottom I believe you can take dog down if the signs were right.
